  1. Hi all., I Don't post much but the weather for the North West over this next week has be confused a bit with the low out west... And if I hear the south east one more time grrrr. Anyone's thoughts for us? We going to get some sun and warmth or is going to stay how it is with bands of showers coming in of the low and limited sun?

  2. Hi been looking at the weather forecast In the Canary Island (Gran Canaria) and the weather seems to be going a bit downhill for the middle part of next week as the winds are coming down from the north.... If there is anyone with a bit of Knowledge help me out :)

    Cheers,

    Lee

  3. Any Aberdeen folks confirm what it's like in city. Heavy showers blowing in on string winds here but not lying much yet

Was up past my mums in bridge of don theres a covering there and the further outside the centre, but very little lying in center of town I'm in Mannofield and there is just patches here and there. Its not been that heavy so far.... don't no what to expect tbh

  4. One difference this time round (or two actually): the air source is colder than most of the previous easterlies this winter (albeit not all of them) and possibly even more importantly, the North Sea is at its coldest and indeed colder than average at the moment. I think snow will fall here in Aberdeen, how much settles and hangs around is another matter.

Yeah true here's hoping.... If not its all your fault for getting my hopes up lol..only joking.

    Cheers,

    Lee

  5. You think so? It may be better to pass judgement in a few days IMO. Most easterlies are indeed rubbish but I suspect we may see at least a bit of snow from some time tomorrow (lunchtimeish) onwards.

I hope am wrong, it does look cold enough for some snow on coast but if it was a northerly or even a north easterly id be happier. Its like earlier on in the year when it was gale force easterly ok it was more of se wind, the temps were to high due to wind but as soon as the winds dropped it was colder and we got snow so i think the winds being as strong as forecast is prob the reason the met office weather warnings don't cover the east coast.

But hey am def no expert lol biggrin.png

  6. I'm not sure Lee but I think you may be right to be worried. Things are much milder than I would like currently and I think anything that falls this evening here (if it does) may be wet rather than white. The consistent "sleet and snow" in the forecasts from the Met Office (and rain in the automated forecasts) make me wonder if it is "sleet for low ground in the east and snow for everyone else inland and/or higher up". I'm not holding my brath for snow based on current conditions. It could be very frustrating watching many other areas get buried!

Cheers Michael, Thats the answer i was dreading lol

  7. Hi folks don't post much on here normally just read everyone else's mesgs lol.

Ive been looking at the weather around my area Aberdeen and would I be right in saying that being so close the coast that it could go pear shaped here. I mind 2010 and when the winds changed to the east it went downhill but again just inland it was much better. There is a thaw on now temps have increase which Id say has more to do with the wind coming of the sea than anything else. So basically am speaking crap unsure.png ......or would I be right in being a bit worried about the snow prospects for here.

    Cheers,Lee

  8. hi no its still 3 or 4 days off and the models r a bit all over the place but if this low does come up this far north what u think the chance of snow for aberdeen. i dont think it ill be snow due to its coming from the east as the last easterly it was snow and turned to rain. I had a look at the newweather outlook and they had heavy snow and then icy rain then back to snow lol. Any thoughts?
