Still snowing here but quite light now, a gap is showing on the rainfall radar for about now but there seems to be more behind ot so thinking it will probably get heavier again... hopefully
-
I'm in winterborne whitechurch and the sleet has turned to snow but no covering on the ground yet.
paths and walls are getting a covering and its just starting to cover on the grass hope it keeps going for a while

Any Blandford bloggers on here tonight? Any snow? When I left work at 5.45 it was trying too but just rain rain rain here, well not even that at the mo!
Yep, we had sleet for quite a while, it has now turned to snow and the flakes are getting bigger, it's also starting to settle. Apparently there's snow and more of it out Milton Abbas way.

Wow just looked out of the window here in East Dorset and the Roads and pavements are going white despite the flakes arent as big as last week yet!
waft it up this way will ya... pretty please still to wet to settle here
-
Woohoo, can't be far from me now then.
Its looking better by the minute out there... still too wet to settle though! my youngest is getting fed up, he wanted snow... and an excuse to stay off school tomorrow LOL

Keep your eyes to the skies, it must be a matter of time.

Ladies and Gentlemen of Dorset, we have .......SNOW !!!!!
no snow here in Blandford but they have it out at Milton Abbas and in Shaftesbury and Gillingham by the sounds of it. We haven't really had very much rain either, its just drizzly cold and blerghhhh!

I'm not banking on snow this time around (had this been Feb with colder sea temps then maybe) but cannot help feeling things will return better still for us in a week or two. Best Dorset snow often in Feb or even March.
The best run - road down N face of Bulbarrow at night when the road is iced and not gritted - manic!!! (I'll probably kill myself there eventually) Not tried Hod , isn't it a bit bumpy?
I'm not either as you say it tends to be more towards February for us, one can hope though  I'd love some decent snow, my eldest is 21 so she's seen some fairly decent stuff but the 15 was too young (in a buggy) and the 10 year old hasn't really seen more than a cm or so, would be nice for them.
Maniac for sure LOL, I did a rundown there on a motorbike when it was very icy, many years ago and it was scary as hell! on a sledge though hmmmmm
Hod is a bit bumpy but there are a few bits that are fairly smooth, might be my memory though as haven't been there for a long time on the snow

do I read it right (guessing the School) that some of your children get to go tobogganing on Bulbarrow then? lucky so and so's if they do - I struggle to get up there when I can for some of the best runs in Dorset.
Bulbarrow and snow great fun! Hod and Hambledon Hill are pretty good as well
They sent our lot in Blandford home just as it was stopping and we didn't have that much! Think it was more about the teacher having to go home because of where they live and not having enough staff to cover the kids.
Am hoping we will get some decent snow here tomorrow, but not holding my breath either, we've had quite a mixture here today, it was coming down looking like sleet and rain but we got a covering of what seemed like tiny hail or snow pellets - not too good at the technical stuff lol.
Hi all BTW, have been lurking... joined before but for the life of me can't remember old login and can't access old email so made a new one.
