After the joy of freezing rain yesterday, its just starting to snow lightly here in Skipton! Bring on the white stuff!

Very quiet here now the snow is stopping eh?
However I decided (misguidedly I know) to take heart from the bbc as they changed my forecast from sun, sun, sun to this:

Evening all
A generally quite rubbish day after waking to lovely fat snowflakes this morning - then that stopped and we have had miserable yuckyness with steady thawing
Still got a couple of inches of snow in garden to admire though so all is not lost. Yet lol.

Right off to bed in the hope that the snizzle will make more of an effort when im not watching.

Finally! The sleet has turned to light snow here now, looks like it was a snow shower coming over the hill after all!

Had a lovely moderate/heavy snow shower for about an hour earlier. Since then had rain and its washing away all my lovely snow cover

Yes, the way I see it its all or nothing. Once any accumulation starts, theres no reason why it should stop.
I think the main question/concern is, how heavy will the precipitation be?
I think you should do alright tonight, places like skipton seem to do alright in these set-ups.
I hope so we have missed it the past few days, i actually live just outside skipton over the border into Lancashire (boo hiss) but we have had more snow than skipton since it began which is quite unusual.

Wow its like a little snow miracle! Was talking to parents who live in Spain who were telling me it is snowing there (just to add to my lack of snow woes) , then lo and behold a few tiny flakes start to fall here!

Just joined after days of watching your discussions and seemingly intimidating knowledge of all things weather related :s
Its been hugely disappointing here for snowfall after being so excited at the prospect of tonnes of the stuff! Forecast seems to be we should get some tonight though fingers crossed!

Hi all, started snowing about 4.15 near bolton abbey and was still snowing hard when I left at 7pm! Got home to Skipton though and nothing! Rubbish. Though the trip to work might be fun in the morning :s
