Hi, I am travelling to Nottingham tomorrow from north Kent. How are things up there?
-
That will be down to what happens in the latter part of the next 24 hours. Keep any eye on this forum, the radar and the local news as transport may be affected to a greater or lesser degree and its a call you may want to make with more information to hand.
Thanks coast. Will be on here watching closely

Hi all, getting really excited about this now. My little boy has recently turned 3 and this will be the first proper snow event that he really knows anything about. Took him out in it last winter but he wasn't too keen.
Now my dilemma is that I am travelling to Nottingham on Sunday evening by train for work on Monday and will be in Nottingham all week. Should I cancel? Is the outlook for next week that we will be getting more? More concerned about getting home than getting there.

There is a large area of ppn out in the north sea moving towords SE.
It looks like this could hit a larger area as it is just north east of essex.
could see something from this within the next few hours.
Yeah I've been watching that on the radar to, looking on track for North Kent maybe Medway to Dartford. Fingers crossed it doesn't fizzle out

Not wanting to depress anyone, but have had snow pretty much all day, nothing really adding to totals as there has been a thaw as well, but its snowing pretty much constantly now. I am sharing this gut feeling that I may wake up and not be able to get to work in the morning. (Probably just wishful thinking though)

At least you avoid Bluebell Hill - BBC Travel has that as partially blocked at the moment I don't think the area around Walderslade/Lordswood is great but as ThunderQueen says, the main roads Chatham Maidstone Rd etc should be OK
Lordswood and Walderslade are fine aswell, just slushy now, the residential side streets are still snowy and icy but are fine if you keep it slow

Maybe - But you got a good dumping earlier you were lucky - here it has been ok but not the deluge that I was expecting because of the veering of the wind. Still tonight could and may still deliver as Kent is still in the mind's eye's of the forecasters lol!
Not sure where you are in Medway Snowfish, where I am I have about 6 inches and more forecast for tonight. I am over the moon

It's the side roads that are a problem , apparantly the main roads are ok... So if you are going near side roads be careful ! , i live just north of canterbury and i have alot of snow
Cheers Neil

5 Inches deep outside !!! , that's an incredible amount... we got hit hard last night
Neil, is Canterbury still ok for me to come and do my street collection today?
-
How is Canterbury this morning? Got my street collection for the charity there today and it looks like there are currently streamers piling over the top of it
-
Anybody from Strood care to tell what's happening? My family are there.
Absolutely nothing its all happening east of here
-
The main roads are generally fine. Estate/back roads are a bit dodgy.
Neilsouth and kent snow say the roads are ok at the mo they are in canturbury and you best ask them tommorrow. I would think it would be a now cast situation we are predicted heavy snow for tommorrow pm so amybe do a run in the morning and let that be it or cancell totally till this bout of snow is over.
Cheers peeps,
Think we will go for it in the morning and head off before the weather turns. Everyone welcome to come and meet some of our dogs by the way. They have been loving the snow
as have I, cant wait for saturday night and Sunday

Hi all, I am a newbie here. Have been lurking and relying on the forecasts from you all since getting totally stuck on Bluebell Hill in Decembers event. I have been really enjoyiing learning from everyone whilst reading and almost feel like I know you all already.
I am meant to be in Canterbury tomorrow doing a street collection for a Greyhound Rescue charity that I volunteer for, just wondered if onyone from that area could tell me if I should cancel?

Yes they are, and gritting parts of Lordswood that aren't normally gritted
