Bloody Euro's , not only do they take our money they take our snow
But then living in Wales they give us a lot more money back than we pay in. Maybe they'll do the same with the snow?

Good to hear that we may get some weather that is more wintery! It's been so mild (and wet) of late! Blwyddyn newydd dda (gobeithio) o ran tywydd - Happy New (weather) Year hopefully!

Well its good to see it turning to snow over england so if we get it we all should get snow.
That's what I was thinking earlier on - warm air meets cold air (again). Snow will fall!

Euro 4 says its all snow, so its a wait and see.
How reliable has the Euro 4 been in the last few days? Meto have had it pretty spot on to be fair

Hoping that the ppn coming in from the SW of England hits up against the cold still around us and turns to snow. Looks increasingly unlikely but I have everything crossed. Join me and there's hope yet!

Think it's worth sharing this with y'all. Enjoy!

Not confident for more snow in the Diff at the moment. Not much heading our way on the radar

Nearly stopped here for now, but there's more coming in from the south east over the Bristol channel. Could be a day for radar watching and nowcasting!
Anyone got any thoughts on the milder weather forecast for Sunday and into next week? It would be nice to see the snow preserved by a prolonged period of colder weather!

Only light flurries in Cardiff atm.
I'm west Cardiff and got steady snow falling atm. Having cleared the path we've had about 1/2 inch on it in the last 30/45 minutes.

Yep snow picked up here in Cardiff too, in my opinion today's snowfall isn't comimg from France, the moisture will come from the channel and interact with the colder air. Recent radar loops shows this nicely. I may be wrong and we do see precipitation move up France, either way I'm happy here in Cardiff!
Looks like ti. Intensifying as it crosses the channel.

Just started up again here in west Cardiff. Grauple to start with and now larger flakes than last night and falling more or less straight down instead of straight across!!

i'd think the red warning will continue further into Friday possibly into Saturday morning
Looking at the radar I'd agree but they're leaving it late! Still not sure that tonight has been a proper RED event - mid/high amber in reality? We've got a good thick layer of soft powdery snow (I'd love to ski on it!) but it's not 1982 or 1979 by a very long shot. More to come methinks but how much and for who is the big question!

The precipitation moving north from France seems almost as potent as anything we’ve seen tonight. How far north will it get? It’s going to keep me up all night at this rate!
MetO haven't extended the red warning but the forecast is showing heavy snow til later tomorrow than it was previously. Still plenty of snow to come, just a matter of where and how much!

HUGE amount of precipitation to our south on v7. mostly rain but when it comes over us.....?
Nope! From what I've seen tonight the v7 radar is not the best. Bringing in rain when it's clearly snow!

Snow appears to have gotten much lighter here now, hopefully won't be long before it picks up again!
Check out the radar DeepSnow. Plenty more coming in the next few hours!

Still coming down steadily in Cardiff centre/west. Fine stuff but got probably 6" generally with deeper drifts of upto 18". I remember 1982 and this isn't it (so far?) but it's great to see a bit of the white stuff in the capital. 1st time in a fair few years!!

Wow look how heavy the snow is approaching south Wales!
What radar are you using Jay?

This is a more accurate radar ignoring some of the noise and just flurries on the other radars. Shows a more true reflection and you can see that a lot of areas missing out still.
but just look to our south, that’s what coming. Was only supposed to be light snow until 7/8pm. We have just been so lucky in cardiff
What radar are you using? Looks pretty good!

It's weird looking at the traffic flows on google maps. Practically every road is coloured orange.
I think it's based on traffic speed not traffic density. Any cars on the roads SHOULD be moving slowly so orange. Simples!

Lampost watching alongside radar watching is the best thing!
