Really? From 1cm level here to 8 cms a few miles away? Radar didn't suggest that.
Indeed it didn't, but I can vouch for it. The grass has been totally covered for the past hour or so here.

Moderate covering on the pavements now, blowing big snowflakes.

I did notice signs on the motorway this morning heading up to the NE saying 'SEVERE WEATHER FORECAST TODAY'. The Highways Agency certainly thinks we're going to get something as well. Light snow here again, larger flakes though.

Very jealous of the white out conditions here. Snow has stopped for now, sky darkening though. Temp is still below freezing. http://www.bankground.com/webcam.html

Very very light snow here in Newton Aycliffe.

Good infact.
Blizzard conditions earlier, heavy persistent snow with winds gusting 45mph.
All surfaces covered in snow, don't think its deep as its fairly wet.
Mostly on and off snow for most of the evening.
Not really covered here despite a good spell of heavy persistent snow earlier. You're only about 5km away from me too.

I really do. Makes it worse that a car just went past with snow on it, so it got close. This weather synoptic just likes to make me tear my hair out.
If I still had my car I'd be out chasing. As it is, I have no car and an inability to keep getting out of bed to check the lampost because my non-weather loving other half is asleep and there would be hell to pay if I woke her up over a couple of flakes of snow.
I'm pretty much the same. Had I my car I'd be driving up to Leeds Bradford Airport and Otley, but I wrote it off last month. Won't be long until I get another one though!

Damn, a few flakes fell here but it seems like the wind changed to a westerly just too early so it just skimmed. Was bang on course too.
Edit: Spoke too soon, some more just came from nowhere!

Nope, us Aycliffers are best. I just went out to the car and it covered my shoes. 8cm, still lightly snowing.
