Just seen on BBC news that all schools will be closed in Wales tomorrow and all trains cancelled. Hopefully other businesses will do the same so there are less people travelling during rush hour when it's due to hit.

Sorry, this is not quite right. They said RCT have announced closures, nowhere else.

Wales Online currently reporting RCT, Swansea & Merthyr are closing all schools. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/storm-eunice-full-list-schools-23128905

Would expect more councils will follow suit.

It's coming fairly thick here with a decent covering. It looks like the rest of the night will see continuous moderate snow rather than anything overly heavy, which I think most of us will be happy with. The Met Office's hourly forecast for my closest location, updated at 21:00 (which, bear in mind, has limited human input) now shows this:

To be fair, IMBY the met app hasn't been far off today.

  3. Feels a bit like Christmas. In that, you spend so much time looking forward to it that sometimes you forget to actually take the time to enjoy it. No amount of refreshing the forum or radar watching is going to change a thing now, so I'm just gonna enjoy the show.

Doesn't feel particularly heavy in Cardiff, but this fine snow doesn't half build up quickly!

  4. First time I've felt compelled to post in 9+ winters of lurking.

Living in Cardiff, 2010 was the best I can remember, but it came right out of the blue.

Hopefully we're on the brink of something special (but safe).

Best of luck to everyone tomorrow and thanks for the entertainment over the years.
