I'm on the iPhone not the best format to reply here but like I said great site mate and I've booked it for future reference. Well done.Hi guys, just a quick update on the WestonWeather website. After finally establishing the website and setting up the weather station, and the Stevenson Screen, it was time to give the fairly minimalistic website look a make over. So here is the final result. It displays much more weather data on one page, in a nice user friendly interface. Hope you like, feel free to comment. www.westonweather.co.uk . Great site mate. I've bookmarked it. Well done. For us in the south and west, it really does show the extreme rainfall we received during January. Of course with much more weather action most likely to take place this coming week, stay tuned to whats going on through our new look WestonWeather website.

Hi rob I've just had my 51st straight day of recorded rainfall. Jan came in so far at 177mm with a few hours to go. Quite remarkable.Rain, rain and more bloody rain. Out of interest, I have recorded 93.8mm here this month compared to an average of 59mm. And another 'remarkable' thing is we have just 3 DRY days.

Hello, snowywinter!Whereabouts are you? I moved from Downend to Coalpit Heath last year, so that I could be North of the M4, rather than South of it. Well, that wasn't the real reason.....it was just a nice bonus, but hey ho, every little helps.
Now that you have posted, I hope that you will continue to. There are a (very) few of us here, from this locality, and the more would be the merrier.
Will it ever stop raining....that's what I want to know!
Hi Noggin
I live in Frampton Cotterell now (12 yrs) but parents still in Yate so my weather records quoted anytime are from that location and go back to Jan 1st 1976 not a bad record for one location I guess. So if you ever need historical info for here I'm your man
Yeh that whole M4 thing erks me sometimes but the best change was going from the old Avon to south Glos the snow episodes seemed to increase overnight lol
Btw my wettest ever year 2012 ( my rainfall records only started in 1988) does seem a very wet spell that goes on and on doesn't it

If you are on the mobile version of the site (IPhone, IPad etc) then the emoticons aren't visible. The only way you can do them is if you know the text format for them. For example : and ) comes to
The main, PC version of Netweather should have a selection of emoticons available to you on the "create a post" screen!
Thanks again mate I will have to practice my text formats as I'm mostly on ipad/ iPhone (slave to the brand) :-)

AWD........what order are these in? Are they to be read from top to bottom or bottom to top? I never know whether it's upgrades or downgrades!
Bottom one is the latest Noggin but all were posted in quick fire succession

Welcome aboard.
There are a few of us in here from the Bristol area, so you'll always have a local or two in here most of the time.
Any questions, just ask. We are a friendly and cheery bunch in here (most of the time)! :p
Thanks AWD
One quick question is how/where do I get the smileys etc that really brighten up the posts? Some of them are really good but mine came out as squares !!!
Ps I'm encouraged by Fergies latest tweets, more hope ahead guys keep the faith

Hi Noggin
Nice to see someone just down the road from me in here so with that in mind this is my first ever post a signed up member for two years and a lurker for many years, didn't ever fancy making my first post in the Model thread, it's a scary place sometimes but now I pop in here and it's much more homely
Anyhow I agree with your post above (at least I hope your post comes out quoted above) the recent spell of snow was superb and there does seem to be a general increase in snow events here these past few years and long may it continue. As a guy in his late 40's I LOVE snow and always will ⛄
Back to lurking but wanted to say keep up the good work guys and gals I love this site and log on every day without fail
Note to self DON'T use ipad smileys etc as they don't come out on posts lol

Very well put.
Unless something exceptional happens to the "cold pool", I cannot see us having any more snow. I posted the other day that I couldn't see that we would get anything from the current precipitation and it looks like we won't.
I have tried to learn a lesson from the disappointments and that is to not get carried away with the hype, but to trust my own judgement.
Maybe something exceptional will happen, but I'm not holding my breath. The week of snow we had in January was lovely and if that was our lot for this Winter, then so be it. It was nice whilst it lasted and was more than we have had in some Winters! It seems to me that there is a trend for more snow over the past few Winters, though, and that is keeping me quite happy.
The almost continual rain, however, is a right old PITA!
