it's definitively sleeting here, I can hear the rain drops and see the drops hitting the puddles that are now amassing outside, we seem to have a bit of a weird situation here where the snow within the sleet is counter acting the rain.
so where we had patches of snow earlier....we still have them
where it had thawed...we have puddles.
a patch work quilt of slush I suspect ...going to take the dogs out for a quick wonder and take a look
Well it's all snow here (hilly north Brighton)

Snow has been quite heavy again here over the past 30 minutes, I'd say were at about 8 cm , it hasn't stopped since 9am ....that's now 7 1/2 hours of non stop snow
I also have 8 cm, though I'd say it's continuous snow since about 8.15

Yep, could see it going this way when I recorded 6.8c in the garden her today - not raining here yet, but doesn't look like it's far off & temps still up at 4.7c. Will need some magic to get the temps down now with all this cloud cover...
I agree entirely, the temp.just keeps on creeping UP now 2.3,-day high 3.7- mind you my thermometer is somewhat in the shade.

Beat me to it...

Wooah it's gusty out here, must be some wind chill
-
This cold spell is pants here!, the temp.can only drop half a degree between midnight and now and we can't get sub zero. it's not as if I have awoken to a clouded sky either!?

Maria - just a teeny weeny bit of light snow started in Preston Park - am blowing it over your way
I am having light/mod.snow here in Bear road/Moulsecoomb area for at least the last 15 m (maybe longer?- that's when I first noticed it was snowing anyway).

I want snow really sad we missed out on sat/Sunday
Well parts of hilly north Brighton got a couple of inches but I guess that just makes it more gutting to be soo close but too far(to the sea)...
-
Yes!!! The rain/sleet turned about 1/2 hour a go! Now i think it is sleety again - can still see pavements and rooftops - just - its wet snow
I am lucky enough to live a couple of miles inland and up a hill in Brighton, it seems to make all the difference as we have had continuous snow since it started about 7.15 (albeit mostltly light) but it has got pretty heavy in the last hour or 2 so we have about an inch now but you can hear it melt whilst it settles.
-
Temperature here has been about 1.3 for the past hour, dew point worryingly rising steadily at -1.0 right now, hopefully it will decrease as night draws close
Yes It's a concern, currently I have a reading of 2.2 but it it has been v.lightly snowing for the past 15 mins or so.

well better late than never FO
It is also better late than never to witness another snow flurry here again finally!- it seems like an eternity since the last one about 4.5 hours ago...
-

Thanks for the warm welcome to warm up a cold night, I am another one of the Brighton contingent.Although I have only just joined I am an avid NW fan and have up untill now been a lurker to read the forums nearly every day since about Nov. '05!

At least we had a few snow showers today, but you just crave to see another couple of inches on the ground once more this winter is that too much to ask...

Yeah there is already a dusting with snow settling on all surfaces and it's only been going under half an hour, an added bonus of winter's last hurrah...!
