Thunder in kidderminster. long rumbles cannot see any lightning. but that maybe because the viaduct is in the way.
-
It was a brief storm here. only a couple of flashes seen and the thunder stayed distant
The rain was moderate and lasted only about 15 minutes.
Best go and check the shed to see if the roof leaked (again)
-
Just started Thundering here, haven't yet seen any lightening. The thunder seems to be distant at the moment.
Raining but not heavily yet.
-
had several storms come through kidderminster last night from about 8 pm and last rumble of thunder heard about 3am.
came over head about 10pm and the cat jumped a mile, then stared outside for a good 5 mins with a disgusted expression on his face.

storm here in kidderminster, a few rumbles and a couple of lightening seen. heavy downpours with hail mixed in. Cat watching it come down from the windowsill.
Seems to be clearing from the north and west. short but sweet.

9th May
Kidderminster, lightening every 20-30 seconds. no thunder heard. Quick rainstorm nothing else.
-
Been snowing here in kidderminster too. There were definate flakes in what was coming down.
The sky is clearing and the ice is thick enough on my pond for my maine coon cat to walk across. :o will put up pics soon

Got snow here in Kidderminster. has been snowing for about 20 mins, big fat flakes.
Settled everywhere.
-
Big fat flakes of settling snow in Droitwich (where i am at the mo), worcester and kidderminster. Dont know if its settling on the roads but its certainly settling on everything else.
Was certainly supprised at 7pm when i looked out the window as it was raining heavily 2 hours previous.
I didn't see this lot coming. Never mind me liking....the cat ain though LOL

Some rumbles of thunder here in kidderminster, just waiting to see if it developes more here or if its going to miss us again and go somewhere else.
-
Strange light pollution effect here in the west of Swansea as the street lights seems to be reflecting off the snow and giving the clouds an orangy colour.
This year just like 1999, the 8th Feb was a disappointment but the 9th produced some snow, today we had the best snowfall in my location since 1991 (can't verify that with any data though, just my opinion)
Getting that over here in kiddy too, even though the snow has stopped for now.
Just spoken to my mate in Swansea, it has taken him nearly 5 hours to go 6 miles.
-
Still snowing in Kidderminster.
Roads aint been gritted, even the main A roads round the town centre (2 miles from me). So for crying out loud be careful out there.
-
definitely snowing here, what was melted earlier by the rain and sleet has now been covered again, moderate to heavy falls from about midday.
-
The snow here has got heavier, the flakes have got slightly smaller.
What thawed earlier has now started covering again.
Looks like i wont get to the works lunch meeting tomorrow, even though its being held in a local pub (and i wouldn't have to pay for a thing)
-
Just been speaking to my mate at swansea uni, they've been closed but he cannot get home yet.......just gone to re-enforce the students snowball fight
-
Well it seems to be snowing here again, according to the bbc forecast though its supposed to be misty but looking at the NW alert for the area I aint surprised we have snow.
Some of yesterdays has now melted but still cannot get off the estate without risk of breaking something as the road and pavement are icy and we are on a hill.
-
The snow here seems to be stopping....oh hang on its really really fine flakes that you have to stare hard to see.
3 to 4 inches i think gonna do a proper measure in a bit.
Dont know how much more we're gonna get, if any. hope so
-
Still going strong here! Slowed down a few minutes ago but the wind has picked up again and it's coming down more quickly albeit smaller flakes.
Did some measuring and I have 2" right by the back door but more on the grass and it has drifted onto the side of the conservatory and is approaching a foot there
Bloke on radio 5 Live saying heaviest snow in Worcester since 1982 - he just measured 10.2cm near the Cathedral. Roads into Worcester city centre are in a right state, lots of A roads in Hereford and Worcester are now "unpassable".
Well I know trying to get off my estate is going to be a nightmare so I aint gonna try. Don't know what the state of the main roads are round here, but i aint heard a train all morning.

Im only a few miles from you and im being affected badly in a blizzard here!
its fairly heavy here, but i wouldn't say its blizzard conditions....yet.
-
I dont know what time it started snowing here in kidderminster, but when i got up at 6am there was already a really good covering. From looking at the lamp post right outside our house it looked to be the fine stuff.
Still snowing now and the cat definitely aint happy as he dived outside like he usually does, then realised that it this white stuff was cold and wet so darted back in and gave me and my other half dirty looks
At least we dont have to break the ice on the pond today, there was 1/2 inch on it yesterday
Everyone who's affected be careful out there.
-
Snowing lightly here in Kidderminster... must have been snowing for about 15 mins or so considering the amount thats covered the car and wall top.
-
Thunderstorm here in Kidderminster lasted a couple of hours, from about 7pm (ish)
Lots of sheet lightning but not much in the way of thunder, when there was it seemed rather quiet but continued for 10 - 20 seconds.
Steady rain.
Looks like i moved from south east leeds at the wrong time

An update to what I posted earlier.
About 3.15am was standing by the window trying to guage where the storm was coming from when there was a tremendous flash of cg lightning and crack of thunder that close that it appeared to have struck in the gardens across the street. I ducked and cat shot behind the sofa. hubby said he could hear the car alarms going off in the next street. Then it started raining heavily for about 1/4 of an hour. didn't hear anymore thunder until about 5am (ish) when we had several rather loud long rumbles (was half a sleep so couldn't guage things exactly).
Rumbling again now has been for about an hour.
oh yeah the thunder in the first storm (2am ish) seemed rather muted like it was trying to keep the noise down because everyone was sleeping
-
about 3 rumbles of thunder and a couple of flashes of lightening about half 2.
followed by a very short sharp shower.
another rumble as typing this. Dunno if its gonna amount to much.
