Torrential rain shower currently here in Wembley.
-
After a breezy and very wet night gusts have really started to pick up in the last half hour here in Wembley.
-
Hope those down south are ok. What will the action be like in the stoke/north midlands area be like
Heavy/torrential rain with a localised flooding risk coupled with strong winds although not as strong as further south.
-
Still a lot of swings and roundabouts before the weekend. Will be okay on higher elevation but those lower down knife edge at best at the moment for me...but keep watching for things shifting further east before the weekend.
This is a great direction for snow events for our region and down here, better than any other direction tbh, however if things are still looking good by friday night then game on for a few hours of snow before rain returns overnight sunday into monday
Yeah its looking fairly borderline for many lower levels at the moment but things may well change before the weekend.

I think we stnd more chance of waking up to a gold ingot nestled in the pillow next to us
 Your probably right there!

Doesnt surprise me at all
Yep no surprise. Heres hoping we are reading to much into the models and we wake up with at least a covering tomorrow!
-
It is progressively getting more sleety I'd say. I'd give it an hour or so before we start getting some light snow. Certainly feels colder than a couple of hours ago.
Yeah the rain here in Macclesfield is definately getting more sleety I work in Macclesfield but live in Sandbach no doubt I will get stuck on my up here tomorrow!
-
time to wait and see what happens later this afternoon / early evening.
Hmmm I guess we just have to wait and see. How good do you rate our chances "Hot Cuppa"?
-
A light-moderate very cold sleety rain falling currently here at work in Macclesfield GFS and NAE are going for a period of snowfall tonight 2-5cm possible but still I think the Met Office are very unsure. Does Cheshire stand a chance of some snow tonight??
-
Well METO tweet expecting 5-10cm Staffs and poss into Ches We'll see
6 miles from Staffs border here
Yeah we shall see!! What do you think our chances are here in South East Cheshire??
-
5-10cms over parts of Cheshire, Gtr Manchester and the Peak District hmmm I am not too sure but wouldn't it be a nice surprise!!
-
Met Office chart now indicating the risk of up to 2-5cms of snowfall locally up to 5-10cms over parts of the Peak District tomorrow and into Friday with aFreezing rain risk almost region wide. This event is going to be one too watch!!
-
Fred Talbot at Granada fearing a risk of snow tomorrow.
http://twitter.com/granadareports
Met Office also going for a risk of freezing rain- sleet/snowy mix over southern inland areas of the region tomorrow into Friday.
-
My heart prays for snow...my head says freezing rain, the NAE did this on saturday
C.S
I got 6-8cms of snow late Saturday after an afternoon of icy rain so I guess all hope is not lost!
Didnt you get any lying snow?
-
Interesting the latest NAE throws something interesting into the mix a Freezing Rain- Sleet/Snow event for South Lancs, Gtr Manchester and East Cheshire overnight Thursday into Friday???
What are other peoples thoughts??
-
Sure it will be ok SNS. Just have to watch how we go.
Yeah exactly we just have to watch how we go. I imagine its going to be a nightmare scenario if we do get freezing rain for the Council gritters though!
-
Really hope i get freezing rain tomorrow it will look crazy with icecles everywhere!
I have been to Canada when there has been true Freezing rain 60mm of it in fact and it causes absolute chaos particulary to power supplies. I am not saying Thursdays event is going to be severe as that but it has the potential to be a very nasty spell of weather potentially more disruptive than even any snowfall torwards the East of the region could be. Believe me pretty as it may be you really dont want freezing rain! It is very dangerous.
-
Dense Fog here with visibility very poor. Freezing fog may well be an issue tonight over much of Cheshire, Gtr Manchester, Merseyside and The Wirral.
-
-7 tonight? What the fluff. Is there anyone out there that believes that winter isn't over yet? I sure don't
Make the most of the cold this week. As from next week the 12z has just thrown Winter in the bin with daytime temps back up to 8-10c
-
Very Foggy here and 4c currently here in South Cheshire with much of Saturday evenings 6-8cms of snow pretty much greying slush and puddles
Will the 12z deliver anything wintry??
-
2-3cm of snow on the ground but pelting it down with icy rain/hail/sleet here currently temps have been steadily dropping so fingers crossed perhaps a bit more snow to come what are other peoples thoughts??
-
It's having another go at turning to snow here, some very fine snow falling, mixed in with the rain. Will be interesting to see which way it goes!
Whats it like near you Louise complete Whiteout here in Sandbach same in Crewe according to local radio!!
-
Driving snow now with Blizzard conditions even down to my level now with around 2-4cm now lying on the ground yikes!!!!!!
-
Could keep going here until 9/10 pm, depends on how quick it moves through. Slight chance it could turn to freezing rain on its back edge, but im not sure on that for here.
What are conditions near you Martin?? Snow is turning increasingly heavy here in Sandbach.
