Today’s posts (27/1) have been a pleasure to read. It’s so nice and refreshing to see a balanced and unbiased critique of the situation.

Well it is a beta version and I have Firefox and Chrome which I can use instead.
I just thought the Support people needed to know as IE 9 will eventually come out of Beta and I would hate to think 40+% of users then experience issues.

Has anyone experienced problems using this forum site with beta internet explorer 9? I'm often getting problems with IE9 locking and automatically restarting. Using compatibility view does not resolve the problem.

Well, colloquially, the MetO will say it can't be done, and, therefore, any hit from a distance of four weeks or more is significant. I think it can be done, and therefore normal scientific parameters for testing should be used.
A bold statement which I'm sure you will back up with some "proof of concept" yourself..... a forecast perhaps.

OK if your view is the wider feeling on here, that is my last forecast that I will post. I don't want to risk being suspended from another forum.
All the best
I hope you will continue to post your experimental forecasts and will not be deterred by those that seem to want to bring back the “dunking stool†or worse

I'd really like to see him giving us a clearer steer on where he's coming from with this "fourth dimension". How about it MURCIEBOY - RJS is happy to share his methodology, can you share yours?
If I were MB and my forecasting method accurately predicted the weather and I had plans to write a book and perhaps earn some money to boot – now would I share my methodology?………Hmmmm let me see…... NO.
I think we all just need to wait and see how this latest experimental forecast turns out, patience is a virtue I’m told.

Hi Nick,
If this forecast comes off or even close then I think “luck†will have no foundation and there will be quite a few people taking notice of your forecasting method. I have to agree with your feeling that from a purely “risk to life†aspect it would be better if it didn’t.
I’m glad you have decided to contribute directly to this forum, I will follow this thread closely – Happy New Year.

Better Than The Models ?
in Spring Weather Discussion
Posted
I hope you are in the minority that look forward to reviewing the data as and when it was forecasted to occur. This is a similar approach for "model output discussions", they don't wait 10 days before they comment on models. However, your suggestion can be achieved by not visiting this topic until the 10th Feb (only joking).
