geordiekev if its just turning to snow for you us underground have no chance
-
seabreeze86 the warnings were just baffling, Met Office used to be really reliable but lately it seems they are way off the mark.
-
Raining here, was expected though.
-
Think it was always going to happen with what models are showing which is a shame because it looked to some what favour us with north east winds mentioned.
Bring on the warm weather, we will hope for it more tomorrow when we get freezing cold weather rain!- 1

Met keeps going on the warnings for my area but I can't see anything but rain, Guess they're the professionals so clearly see something I don't, or do they.

Couldn't agree more, its another let down of a winter so far. We don't want it in March/April so it can have other ideas if it does.
Bring on some warm weather.
-
Surprised there was no warning for wind, it’s wild out there tonight.
-
Still think the best chance for us is Friday / Saturday as winds turn to an easterly with plenty of showers out to sea. Keeps it a bit more interesting anyway, sick of wind!

Yellow Snow Warning.... for just to say my house lol
Thursday / Friday Met Alert, go onto app and it shows rain
-
Not a breath of wind now after last night. Quite strange actually,
I thought the storm was going to last well into Monday morning? It’s like we’re in the eye of it or something, flat calm.

Amber warning..... for wind
wish this was for snow

Go here. Choose UK Snow risk. You can see there is a moderate risk for NE coast from 3am, then a higher risk for North Yorkshire after 7am. TBH its going to take a change in the predicted wind direction for showers to hit NE coast. Be very lucky to get even one here....
Check this again at about 10pm tonight...

Hourly weather charts from the GFS model - updated four times a dayYea this backs up my thoughts also. Let’s hope early feb delivers

Does anyone have any predicted snow shower charts because snow radar only show North Yorkshire / Humberside getting all the showers missing our regions altogether.
edit -4.9 here

Just the way our luck has been going past winters. Just as we get the favoured wind and showers showing the west spoils the party and starts to push them back out. Surprised there is such a warning for our area BUT they are the professionals they know a lot more than me lol.

Reverse psychology?
Not at all. I just can't see these showers coming this far inland, I even think Middlesbrough will get them.
-
Seems like it’s going to be a very close and frustrating near miss tomorrow morning, Good luck the the areas closer to the sea, hope you get the snow fix and reported snow depths from the met. ️

Dusting melting away now as to be expected
Temp has gone up to 1.2 now which is why. Shame as like you say if it was dark it would have delivered more.
Ice will now be the issue.

Defiantly sleet now, the tiny patch of snow we had is gone.
-
Well what can we say. It snowed thats about it, left a tiny patch on the back garden.
Wasn't expecting anything so guess we can't be to despondent.
Onto the next chase.

Other places seem to be doing well with road closures etc, Just another frustrating time to be in the North East.
