Went bed early last night so i can have a radar, lamp post night tonight but after my excitement this morning I'm reading again- sleet next to the Sea and coasts lines
WHY ???
I know its harder to snow here but it doesnt mean it can't today does it
Netweather, Met office and BBC all say snow so i'm confused

Temp dropping here in Clacton-on-Sea. Currently -0.4c

I am thinking that and me being on coast too air temps be around +1c reckon, with on shore wind.i am going for 5cms of wet snow at best here and maybe just rain and sleet by morning, think west essex will do very well out of it,being on higher ground.
Last winter we did very well. I can remember noticing that at times we had had a lot more snow then the likes of Colchester and Chelmsford. We are further East so this should counteract being close to the sea. I have a feeling if the front stalls near us we could do very well

Whoever said it is probably chummy with Peter Cockroft who spouted the same thing on the London Lunchtime news, TBH I was expecting a nasty downgrade on the 12z's to support his idea of snow turning to rain. . . .
But alas all 12z runs show snow all the way, so Peter Cockroft and and the rest of the & 'turning to rain' crowd can cram their sledges up where the sun is very hard to find.
EDIT: Damn, faxes have shifted West, still not too bad. quote from Teits in the Model thread:
Glad to hear! Hopefully it will reach us Sat/Sun although if it moves further west we might miss out.

Roads and paths now covered. Amazing how quickly it turns. If it keeps up like this all day we could have some decent totals. Temp now down to 0.3c
