After flirting with 0 Deg.C, the temperature here is now dropping. Now at -0.4 and dropped about 0.2 deg in the last hour. No precipitation, no thaw yet. Birds are having a real feast on the corn thrown out onto the ice covered snow. Sheet black ice on the lane with gradient outside, impossible for any vehicles to traverse.

Incredibly rare, thank you and to Matt too. Stay inside, make sure you have airflow from your homes and like I advised Mapantz, put a little vaseline (if its not too late) around the moving parts of windows. If your front door is a tight fit, open it when safe then put some vaseline around the frame and the door latch..
Thanks, got a few more. Padlock, Leaves, Car headlight. Not wet, but totally hard glazed. Overhead power cables are coated also, but too high to take a picture. Got a south facing front door, so no issues to get outside thanks.

It's not as bad as anticipated at present, Chimet is only at 43 knots and the forecasts were in the 65 upwards range. I would think that with a change to SW this is not particularly remarkable when compared to the recent winters.............give it another couple of hours and things might change of course
Atherfield on the Island checking in here... Rain stopped, winds moderately strong but not increasing further as yet. Sea will be going wild tonight.

Light rain showers here on the s.coast of IOW, frost gone.

After a weekend of heavy rain here in Cornwall (Falmouth area), the wind is really picking up tonight. Should be an interesting drive and then car ferry back to the IOW tomorrow. Decided to head in-land via the A303 rather than take the coastal route via Bridport.

First crack of thunder on south coast of IOW.

First shower has reached the Isle of Wight. Very large drops.

Strange, the whole of the East side of the IOW and where I was, we just got absolutely battered by extremely heavy snow, like really really heavy, it settled everywher! and lasted a good 45 minutes! Came across a pretty bad accident too!
Well looking east towards your way at dusk, it was black as hell. Quite a sight..
