You're right. Everything I said a couple of pages ago don't matter. They're just an overreaction from me.
I think it's fantastic that the weather is utterly dreadful. Stupendous stuff. And I'm so pleased that a handful of people are having more comfortable night's sleeps. That's what it's all about.

Another pitiful day. Skies heavy, pouring with rain. Nothing is thriving. The trees are heavy and drooping, wildlife is silent, there are no kids playing out in the first week of their holidays. Cafés are empty, ice cream unsold. Sporting fixtures ruined. Money wasted. Dreadful.
Everything looks sorry. Utterly pitiful.
To think people like this sort of thing. It's perverse.
Conscious this reads like something Morrissey would write but whatever. I'm done with it.

Just drove back from Penzance to Cheltenham.. and punched through a fairly lively affair between Exeter and Bristol. The M5 was pretty bad.. albeit very quiet and easy to navigate.
Arrive home and it's just caught up with me. Time to enjoy.

Always keen to explore new ideas.. What are the chances of this virus having been circulating around the UK for some time before the first case was officially confirmed.
Were some "regular" flu deaths over Christmas/New Year actually this new thing and not accounted as such?
TBH I've never known a winter like it in terms of people close to me with a virus, lung problems, etc..
Might be something which comes out in the wash in due course.

I don't tend to post much here, so be gentle I find myself in a funny position.
My sister and Mum are nurses.. fairly battle hardened. Their attitude is they'll take what's coming head on and to not let it worry you. I am very proud of them and they reassure me.
On the other hand, my partner is a bit of a worrier. She's reading it wall to wall coverage and it's not doing her any good. I feel like I have to stay one step ahead of the news so I can reassure when the "chat" happens each evening. Oh to be my 3 year old or 9 month old.. ignorance really is bliss.
Anyway, I am working from home tomorrow for the foreseeable as are my entire company. My fuel bill is going to come down somewhat!

Ah, sure I saw them out west in the direction of Gloucester but the lightning tracker wasn't showing them.. but now they are there so no longer questioning my sanity.

Big flash of lightning in and around Cheltenham at 00.03, another at 00.07. Fairly quick thunder, not far away. Has been raining steady/heavy for over an hour now.
