Is it time to wake up again? Gone south from Stirling - joys of the being the mobile flexable workforce - but I can still see Scotland from here. The view is good and snowy over on the hills from Wigton Bay up and through the Galloway forest. Further east Criffel is bare and out west the Isle of Man looked white so I'm assuming it was on the same track as the Galloway snow. Havent braved the model forum yet or the quest for Cheshire low snow that is the NW thread. Thought I'd start easy - wasn't it a cracking summer, think I got one of the best 12 months weather for a while.

More cloudy day here, even tried to rain - a whole three spots. Trying to remember when I last experienced a long dry spell in July.

A fresher morning, 19c at 10:00 with a breeze.

It's taken a year but enjoying summer turning up - the over night move to 'cooler' conditions still delivered 26degC by 10:00 and currently 28degC. Measured with the silva windwatch so not bang on but it's usually very close to.

Today summer was first light to about mid moring - all building up now, hopefully get something.

Enjoyed yesterdays installment of summer, the trails round Aberfoyle were tacky rather than sloppy. Unfortunately back to grey and wet here too. Monday seems promising though.

Snow down to around the 400m mark here - Ben Gullipen just dusted, cover on the top of Stronend, Ben Venue and the broad ridge back to Aberfoyle has a covering. Seven months since I've seen my first - none webcam - snowfall of winter and it's still going.

Oh well our 1 day of summer was nice yesterday while it lasted.

Lovely day here, t-shirt weather and everything has just gone new growth crazy. Carse looking green rather than brown. Lots of busting buds over near Port of Mentieth. I see Nevis Range have called it a day, no fighting that drenching and Lecht may finish on Sunday. Glenshee, Cairngorm and Glencoe all looking good.

They wouldnt stand a chance against the might of the midge. Infact maybe that's it the midge is actually some ancient Celtic force to keep biblical plagues at bay.

Another wet day, currently very windy here. Endrick was close to bursting at Drymen when I went past late afternoon. Good four or five feet above what it had been mid morning. Looked like snow was down to around 600-700m on the Arrochar Alps - spotted through a brief gap in the cloud but not sure if it had turned later. Cloud cover far to far down to see.

Snow dirfts to sand drifts is right, maybe a need for more hedges to get the sand to drift in behind them?

It seems we slipped right back into autumn today with this wind/rain it's ferocious at times (tomorrow might not be much better so it would seem)
I was thinking more summer, pools of standing water in the fields today. Would say like winter hadn't happened but yesterday was the first day I've felt real warmth outside since... I couldnt actually remember its been that long. Sometime last year though. Now six months since I saw my first hill snow and five and a half since first winter mountain walk.

You can almost hear things growing, even managed warm and sunny interlude early afternoon. Blowing a bit now, quite a lot of water in the Forth, lucky it stopped raining or Aberfoyle would be in for another drenching.

Rain this morning, looked like it might have been a snow to rain event as there was what looked like slush on the car windscreens. Bit cold and raw outside and looking very murky over Loch Ard way. Not really looking forward to a warm damp end the current cold.

I'll be happy with hill snow, bit low here for me to expect anything major and there's enough power in the sun to stop things from lying too long. Have taken a look at the model thread - usual S England bias seems to be in effect. Yes SW and SE England probably have rapidly receeding chances of major snowfall but N. England there's still a reasonable assumption for about another month. Maybe more hill focused. Scotland espcially mountains - another 2months? Any explanation of what might be happening up here over the next week or so welcome. At the moment it seems hill snow lowland mild and wet?

Lovely first thing - bright and sunny. Went over Aberfoyle way late morning for a spot of mountain biking - found one teeny tiny snow speck outside the village at about 25-30m asl. Calling it a patch would be stretching the point. Further in there were othe specs still holding on in the shade further into the forest, all around the 50-70m asl mark. Some of the lochans still have small areas of ice on them where shaded. Shame its all change this week, would be nice to get some more snow and then back to this. Definately more my kind of spring weather.

Picture from skiing on Glas Maol at Glenshee today. Got a truly alpine bluebird day yesterday but todays grey had a heavy drop of sun in it. Lots of diffuse light making the most of the mist. Grey yes claggy no.

On the subject of overnight freezes - been over in deepest darkest (ok sunniest) Argyll today - really suprised to see ice on a good part of the upper reaches of Loch Fyne this morning. Didnt have time to stop and do photos but there was also what looked to be thicker ice on the shoreline. Some small patches were still there later afternoon. Although the oddest winter find of the day was a piste basher in a yard near the ferry for Gigha.

Definately a glorious day - took time out to wander round Forest of Ard. Blue sky, spring showing in the valleys and snow capped mountains. Couple of months of this please. Well this or more Snaw. There's still patches and specs in the hidden shaded parts of the forest.

I could claim snow progressed this far over - three flakes when I was up on Dukes Pass above Aberfoyle around mid day. Enough to beat a bookmaker and thats it. Keep getting a bit of sun, it's really nice to feel a bit of heat. Not that I dont want more snow just not expecting weeks of cover now.

still, on a go slow outside. Just had a nose into the far (true) north of England thread looks like the NE is doing quite well near the coast. Looks like a fair amount on the radar moving across the country.

Same here, lazy light snow, probably about four or five inch gap between lying flakes on the car roof. Think its time to look at the radar, based on above posts.

Heavy snow about 30mins ago, progressively lighter and trailing edge of blue sky coming into view. Nice to have flakes instead of hail / graupel for the first time this winter. Feels a bit more wintry.
