Heavier and more frequent showers now piling in across Dundee city centre. Settling more now as well. Looks like things are just starting to get warmed up/cooled down!

Nice fine snow now falling in Monikie. A bit wet overnight, but covering roads and pavements so the temp must have dropped off a bit. Looking good for the rest of the day!

Dundee SRS showing an average of 56 mph and strongest gust of 82mph at 6.20am!
Gale force 11 "violent storm"
Lights flickering a lot here in Monikie and it sounds/feels like the wildest storm of the winter this far. A day for staying in doors if ever there was one!

Just landed at Edinburgh. Very choppy final decent although winds were stronger when I left monday lunchtime. Direction was SW monday aligned with the runway, but SSE this evening which makes all the difference as a cross wind!
Happy to be on the ground. Now where's all this snow?

Heavy snow showers blowing through here in monikie for the last hour. Starting to lie due to intensity. Fairly windy still. Can't believe the temp drop over the last 10 hours!

Five tiles off the roof, one of which landed inches from the car. A close shave! Annoying that there will be a an insurance excess to pay and loss of no claims unless it's a cheap fix (unlikely).
Still happy that no one seems to have been badly injured. Could have been much worse given the wind strength.

Strongest gusts I've ever experienced here in Monikie now. Has been building in intensity all night. No thunder/lightning but enough rain mixed in to make sleep difficult with all the noise.
There's going to be some insurances claims in the morning for sure - and this is tame compared to up north!

Short, but heavy, wet snow shower here in monikie. Didn't stick due to warm/wet ground, but nice to see the return of winter!

Working from home looking after sick child and it's just started snowing at a medium intensity here in Monikie just north of Dundee! Still have an inch lying from yesterday ;-)

Just back from Dundee and the roads are white at the house. Nothing until above 500ft mind you. The move this year to the new house is proving worthwhile so far - had snow 3 days already this winter and none at the old house.
Snow Monster it would seem we must be neighbours! After moving to Monikie last year we were warned by our new neighbours that the winters here are much worse than "down the hill" in Dundee. Result was the sum total of nothing last year! Typical....

Snowing here just north east of Dundee at 500 ft asl.

Squall just blown through here. Got very gusty very quickly. Quite a few lightning strikes towards the Sidlaws just north of Dundee as well.
Looks like the next few days are going to remain interesting weather wise...

Sitting in the queue at the Spittal snow gates hopefully on the way to Glenshee. Some heavy snow on the way up from Dundee, especially around Piperdam. Lovely drive up through blowing snow and covered roads - winter tyres coming in useful!

Lobbing it down now in Dundee. Quite amazed how quickly it's settling given how wet it is on the surfaces. Could be a lot of snow if this keeps going overnight!!

Wet, very fast snow now falling in Dundee City. Some lying on the grass and cars which is surprising given how wet they are.
It's going to be pretty nasty overnight I think given the winds. Not pleasant at all.

Rather unexpected moderate snow shower just started here in Dundee. Ground is dry and its lying!

Upgraded to 50p flakes here in downtown Dundee as well. Biggest single snow event of the winter now. Good depth of lying snow both in town (low down) and further inland.

Lots of red on the radar moving slowly East. If this stays as snow for a few more hours could get really interesting.

You can keep your Easterlies! This frontal snow now delivering decent amounts in a short period here in Dundee after starting out very fine and light. Also good to see snow that isnt being blown horizontal for a change!

All a bit "meh" so far in Dundee. We missed out earlier in the year and so far the beast has only delivered about 2cm! The kids are off school so they're delighted at least!
Snow now showing for the next 10 days so hopefully a case of getting lots of little snow showers, building depth rather than a single snow event.
