Shocking - feel so sorry for those suffering floods ....
If this was Bangladesh not Somerset we would be sending the Red Cross and disaster relief aid - charity should begin at home IMO !
Sorry I find comments like this really annoying. Equating a picture of one flooded house/business with the devastating floods in another country is shocking.
When we have 1000's dead, 10,000's homes destroyed, 100,000's homeless, outbreaks of cholera, no fire brigade, no RNLI, no SAR, no council emergency shelters, etc, etc. then maybe, just maybe you can bemoan the lack of international assistance.
The flooding is tragic for those affected, but really people need to wind their sense of perspective back a little.

Is it not a prettt decent storm today? Within the 2 day period. Forecasted over 4 weeks ahead. Impressive. I know people dont want to derail thread but the detail of the forecast is to accurate and to frequent to be chance. Give credit where credit is due I say
But it wasn't the forecast from 4 weeks ago was it? 4 weeks ago he said Cornwall would be 'breezy', no mention of floods, storm force winds, etc. He changed his forecast for the beginning of January only a few days ago.

Hello, a long range weather forecaster has released a summary of his July forecast here -
http://twitpic.com/a4q45r/full
Without naming the forecaster (its obvious...but judge the forecast rather than the guy) would it be possible to judge/test/rate the forecast?
8 days in I'd say (anecdotally) that it's not great, as it misses the flooding and rain of the 6th-7th, which was an extreme weather event (in my view).
-
On the second day of the heatwave he reassured his customers that it was just a blip and would only last 2 days. (it lasted over a week).
-
Piers is claiming victory. Bit soon after 8 days one would think?
-
Things must be bad, Piers hasn't been invited to advise the Drought Task Force...

Star walk is brilliant, they had it on offer for less than £1 when I got it. The red low light funtion is great too, my last Star app ruined night vision everytime you looked at it!

I'd guess about 2 inches in Bedford at the moment. Roads are covered, but not many cars out so it's sticking easily.
-
I love snow, but I have to drive to work in Thurleigh before 8am tomorrow...will be one of the first cars on the road I'd guess. Should be fun!
Still light snow in Bedford.

Joe Bastradi is predicting a change mid month with snow forecast. Anything in Piers forecast to back it up?
-
Well someone has lost some money anyway! Must have been another sausage around the sun
To be fair, it was on a class C period over Christmas...
You failed to cross match the A, B, C classes of prediction with the Double Top Red Top warning period. An easy mistake to make I'm sure you will agree.

Bookies must of won this year then on the Christmas bets.

Currently rain with sleet and the odd bit of snow north of Bedford.

Mr Corbyn is saying there is a new glacier growing/forming on Glencoe.
