You're only down the road, started to snow moderately here - hope to get some heavy stuff now!
Snow has eased here now to a moderate fall. Heavy snow was brief, maybe 5 mins, but nice while it lasted.
Snow virtually stopped now. Damn it!
-
HEAVY SNOW!!! Yes! Really coming down here at the moment.
-
That snow shower is getting closer, greens, yellow's and still heading our way.
It looks as though its dying on the latest met office radar picture. Hopefully it'll still have some snow left in it by the time it reaches here.
-
I feel much more at home in here, the London/Kent area has such a high population, hardly any posts in that thread had any relevence (to me at least)
MK is only 15 miles down the road from Northampton so its make much more sense for MK forum users to post here.
-
Eveing all, we have another light snow shower atm her in Northampton (NN4), so this evening the showers have given us here a top up of around 1cm of snow.
-
Right last post of the night, I'm off to hit the sack and dream of 25cm of snow being dumped on Northampton. Still snowing light to moderate, and we now have about 5-6cm lying on the ground. Good luck to those who are still keeping everything crossed for there first snow.
-
Still snowing hear moderately (Northampton NN4)everythings white! It did come down rather heavy for a time here. But is definatley eased in the last 30 mins. Just checked and we have a around 1.5" covering.
-
Hmmm, nothing here yet in NN4 (Hunsbury) NorthamptonIndeed! Snowing already in NN2. Well that's my forecast out the window. 4 inches here we come! -
The BBC forecast i watch earlier this afternoon said rain for the all midlands expect higher ground where they should expect snow. What's going on? Its been freezing or below here all day. How cold does it need to be for it to snow for gods sake. <_<
-
It's gone from being cold in North Northampton to very cold south of A45 then sub-tropical 2 miles south of you.
So what weather stations/temp gauges do you guys recommend for home use? As it seems mine could do with replacing.
-
Getting really confused now
2.4c at 16:43
0.1c
and now
3.2c
Hmmm! I guess from those readings that my gauge has gone to pot.
-
Hunsbury?
I'm only a 10 min walk to the Northamptonshire countryside
Indeed I am in West Hunsbury. I must admit though the temp gauge I use is only a £50 jobby, nothing to flash or expensive. Temp now -0.3c
-
Thats a big drop from 2.4c at 16:43
I suppose, but it is dark now and I probably don't get affected to much by the town's heat where I am.
-
Fine and dry here (NN4)at the moment, apart from the earlier brief light rain. Temp currently 0.1c
-
Bright sunshine here, so far a lovely winters day.
-
Still snowing lightly in Northants and has been for over 3 hours now. Wonderful!
Yep same here at NN4, I haven't measured it but I'm guessing there's around an 1" of new snow here. Snow becoming very light now, the end is near I fear!
-
Still snowing light to moderate here and has been for an 1.5 hrs. We currently have around 1cm on top of the snow we had the other day.
-
18:30 metoffice radar dosen't look great guys.
-
I can confirm it has just started snowing very lightly here in Northampton.
-
The snow shouldn't be too far away from me now in south Northamptonshire. Luton is only 30 miles down the road from here and they are getting a good dumping.
-
Woohooo! U had me scared, but huge flakes coming out of those clouds now, 50p sized and covering already
That's what we had at first, but it moves through so quickly. Don't expect it hang around long at all.
-
Eh? are you sure?
no rain here in NN2 or signs of dripping
Yep! Warmest its felt in days to be honest! Is it still snowing there then?
-
Still snowing lightly in the NN2 district. It is a bit patchy at the moment but more to come according to radar. This is turning out to be better than I expected.
I'm in NN4 Hunsbury, and its completely stopped now just light rain falling now. Wow, can't beleive that was it. Those guys south of Northamptonshire, I wouldn't get too excited. You'll be lucky if you 1cm. The radar looks far more impressive than it actually is.
-
Very light rain here now, feels much warmer than earlier too. Also there is the distint sound of drip-drip outside as yesterdays lying snow starts to melt.
