Please feel free to comment on conditions either here or tweet to Net Weather.

    Have a good one everyone.

Thanks for all the updates. Enjoy this thread every year, and even the years I don't end up with a ticket! Looking forward to this one though after a few years of missing out.

Typical but not complaining, first time at Glastonbury this year and I bought the Mrs some stupidly priced Hunter Wellys for xmas for the festival. Never mind, more than happy with the forecast and thanks for the updates! :)

It can still get muddy in places (water standpipes, toilets), even at dustbowl festivals.

  3. Last year I stayed in the Park Home field. It was good there as it was close to the old railtrack which gave good access to the main stages. I'm not sure how Park Home field would cope if the weather is bad though... Can't really remember if it was on a slope or not!

  4. I've just got soaked on the way home from work (I know I should have been more prepared). I certainly hope it isn't going to be like this over the Glastonbury weekend. Although no doubt I'll be Booming rain or shine, I'd definitely be more happy with a nice bright blue sky above me head!

  5. Can someone tell me about all these different outputs? For instance what is the difference between ECM and GFS? And what's the difference between 00hz and 12hz?

Who produces the date and how to they gather it? Where is the data available?

Sorry for the 101 questions - I'm just new to this. Reading this forum over the past week has really got me interested in how weather forecasts actually work... before I just took if for granted!

  6. I've just bought a book on predicting the weather. Thought it would be good to actually understand these images rather than be told what they mean.

However, I was wondering what software do you use? I use Mac OS X - is there any weather predicting software for a mac?

  7. I bet those going to the festival would settle for this set-up

And what are the chances of that set up?

I have to say I don't really understand how high pressure systems do push up low pressure weather systems (and vice-versa). Does anyone care to explain?
