The thunder is back, very distant rumbles to the South, it's just drizzling at the moment.
-
Beautiful capture.
I'm not sure where Whitehill is but if it's near that squall line of cells in East Hampshire, that one could well stay electrically charged IMHO.
It's just NE of Portsmouth - http://goo.gl/maps/gK4y
I haven't heard many further rumbles from the storm, although it was to my West when I took the photo, and appears to be tracking towards Guildford/Woking.

Here's another photo of a new storm that's heading through;

Just heard a rumble of thunder as a sharp shower passed through here.
-
Is that anaprop in the channel south of the IOW, visible on the Meto Radar.
-
Got some fairly heavy rain at the moment.

check out the eifel tower web cam, some nice cloud formations and lightning.. can see people flashes on there cameras, ifm i saw that lightning id be down in a flash.... (excuse the punn)
Some fairly frequent lightning on the webcam, ominous looking skies though, seems like the lightning is behind the webcam.

It's currently 22.0c here w/57% RH.
It's in the shade at the rear of the house, it's gone up ever so slightly in the past hour by +0.7c.
Hopefully things track slightly more West, it's been a while since we've had a good storm and I've gone out and bought a new DSLR so it'd be a fantastic christening for the camera to get some storm footage tonight (Full-HD @ 30fps).
-
@cobbettp they're only covering themselves at this point, the main feature is meant to hit the far SE corner.
-
I cant really see us get any storms to be honest.... they will stay over the Continent (where its warmer)

This is pretty smart, and includes the south coast
Now that animated forecast looks amazing.
-
hmmm I can't decide if the Eiffel Tower lights are pretty or gaudy... You're right tho' - cracking storm activity going on! Kinda makes up for being storm-starved here
Well I am glad the Eiffel Tower lights stopped flashing, that way you can distinguish between the bright/distant flashes of lightning, looks like a nice storm, albeit not that intense.

Evening Adi F, what's the story tonight then, keep getting pings on my RainAlarm app on the iPhone saying that small showers are popping up in the channel.
Started out at ~60miles earlier but the latest alert is ~14 miles away.
-
I'm pretty sure I can hear thunder, very distant but my ears are certainly picking something up...
-
I think I'll go and head out then, I have been monitoring this quite closely, just didn't really expect much out of it all.
-
I got pretty bored with the childish presenting by Carol and Chris, I hope they take some feedback from tonight's show and improve the presenting styles for the next episode in the series.
You can see the difference between live/pre-recorded presenting though quite clearly as they switch between pre-recorded clips and then back to the live show, the pre-recorded stuff is much more professional, mainly due to the fact that there aren't any distractions, but even so, seemed to be a lot of bumbling and faffing about tonight.

London and South East (which includes Hampshire)
Where can you see this, I can't see anything on the website?
-
I know someone already mentioned it earlier, but here is a webcam in Amsterdam, the storm is still going on... http://www.terena.org/webcam/
Just seen a couple of flashes of lightning and the webcam also has an external amplified microphone so you can hear the thunder too.

Hooray the IoW Storm Tracker is back up and looking rather spangly & pretty it has to be said!
Had an email from Shaun, the admin of the website with this message to let me know - maybe we should help him out seeing as it was possibly us lot that hammered the site! B)
"The isleofwightweather storm tracker is back on line.

Just had a brief rumble of thunder here.
-
Yea good night from mid Hampshire too! Hope to be woke in 3 or 4 hours with a lot of banging and flashing lol
Are we still talking about the weather?
-
Ah its ok I have radar back. And in the last hour Of not having it, it is now showing a rash of precip over Hampshire although I think most of it is evaporating before it reaches the ground
You can smell it in the air, it's certainly not falling though, I just took a quick drive down to Petersfield and back and apart from the cloud cover streaming in, there is nothing happening at the moment.
Everything seems rather still and quiet out there though.

Well Simon King - BBC Meteorologist just tweeted this.

Thunderstorms in E England haven't come off as forecast today. Still some in f/c for 2morrow morning though.#cantsleepinthisheat -
It's a nice evening here in Farnham, cloud clearing and leaving a brilliant blue sky and sunshine, what's left of it that is.

Seems like that line of storms is now coming through from the West as the thunder is a lot louder and I can actually see the occasional lightning flash.
