  1. The December 90 one was the first heavy snow I had been in for years, possibly 87, it was my first term at Poly in Stoke. Remember getting excited watching it get heavier out of the student union window LOL. Just moved up from Bournemouth, the snow desert!
  2. God Enigma reminds me of the start of the Gulf War. Staring out of a student flat in Stoke.
  3. Brilliant storm here, just finished. Tiny bits of circulation in the lower darker clouds as they passed over. Great forked/ribbony lightning and loud thunder. Get ready Bedford & Cambs!!
  4. Wow looks impressive over Bedford, must be getting close to flooding. Agree it’s very mild. Just been for a very sweaty run, with feint bizarre flashes of distant lightning now and again. Cooling off outside in the light drizzle.
  5. Down in LB can see flashes from the cell south of Luton. LB shield holding up well as per usual
  6. Wife had to stop with a few other cars on way back from MK, when that ‘zit’ on the radar passed over her. Apparently rain was so heavy the cars were crawling on a dual carriageway.
  7. Ta. Yeah never seen or heard of it before. Presume tied in with an unstable atmosphere.
  8. At Watford running. What’s this whispy dangling cloud out of the bottom of Innocent looking cumulus?
  9. Mammatus. Just moving past me now! Shame the proper stuff is to the south.
  10. Nice. I’m not allowed any decent action just because I got lucky visiting my folks the weekend of the Bournemouth mega storm in 2015
  11. Hilarious looking at the radar at storms approaching us. They’re like planes avoiding a storm, first to the south west, now all to the east. Any storms approaching from the south literally dissolve as they get close. Need an expert to explain why.
  12. Nice view of the Aylesbury storm directly to my SW. There’s an area further south that might get us in LB. Heard a rumble.
  13. Meanwhile BBC Weather after the news…. Some thundery rain in the South West. Finger on the pulse.
  14. Wow this lot developed nicely, nothing here in SW Beds, usual storm shield in place. Fun watching some funky routes on plane finder app as they pick their way around the storms!
  15. Couple of flashes and bangs from the one here, I face SW from LB -This one was sliding towards NW London
