The media have got hysterical about this as per normal saying it's the biggest storm to hit the UK in 15 years

and people have fell for it hook line and sinker . Someone on youtube yesterday claimed he was excited as he had never experienced a hurricane before. i politley said "and nor will you ever as you live in the uk"

He went on to call me an idiot and because he got 80mph winds it was a cat 1 hurricane and the 87 storm was a cat 4 hurricane

just got higher winds in a squall half an hour ago than we got all day yesterday . Only lasted 5 minutes but was way more exciting

the wind and gusts have really died down now .. Is that it for us east midlanders??? (or shall I say Nottingham since Mansfield seems to be getting blown into the next continent) About every 5-10 minutes I get a small gust of 20-30 mph I would guess

i think for my part of the country , the met office have under-played it. Its not just that its windy. The gusts are sustained for long periods. Neighbours fence now trashed

Not sure what the speeds are , but its blowing bins over and a gust just almost took my neighbours fence down . Its not gonna survive lol. Its weird , i just went into town , 1 mile away , and its relatively calm there. i am in an exposed spot though

I'm no weather expert , but have been fascinated by weather since i was 13 . I used to go to snowdonia a lot and experienced some ultra-extreme weather on many occasions , and now , i am hooked.

Down for 52mph gusts here for tomorrow. Its already very windy now. Trees swaying and door annoyingly banging lol
