  1. Not sure where you are, but after the evening snow showers, there was an almighty snowstorm after midnight - heaviest snow falling I have seen this winter. I was surprised there wasn't any thunder snow - not that I saw or heard anyway. It was the type of snow that the event in Jan 2004 gave. The wind really started getting up at the same time and it was blowing the snow off the roof tops, the road, and off the tops of cars. Couldn't see to the end of my road.

Haven't been out yet but lots of very thick snow out there and a few snow showers still falling.

    Great fun!clap.gif

Thundersnow this morning about 5.45, no schools, no buses and hardly any cars going anywhere. Stopped for the moment, but the sky is getting very dark again

  2. Thunder, lightning and lots of snow in Dover this morning, was supposed to be going into Folkestone to work for 9am, but have decided not to even think about it. The M20 and the A2 are down to one lane and it's still snowing. All the schools are closed, and just read that there is a power cut in Deal as well! Seems to be very localised though, just this little corner of East Kent!

  3. I'm watching, just a shame we are in a valley and can't see the channel. Hardly a breath of a breeze here, but can still see the flashes and can just hear the thunder in the distance. We haven't had any rain for a fortnight, so even a little rain would be welcome. Will keep you posted, and as soon as the dog starts to go nuts I will let you know :)

  4. Have a good time! I went fossil hunting in Folkestone with the kids yesterday, we had a lovely time. Once I got used to what I was looking for they were all over the beach. The prize find was a lovely nautilus fossil, still with some of the shell visible. (Mind you I think I had more fun than the kids!)

  5. Was at work this morning, sat in a chair, having a coffee, and the chair started moving side to side! Lasted for about 5-6 seconds and there was a dull rumbling noise, quite scary. Apparently Folkestone has got quite a few chimneys down and gas main problems. Certainly woke a few people up, but thankfully no major problems, but it will give us something to talk about for a few days!
