The clean up has started in the Western isles, lots of reports of trees down and roof damage.
Peak of the storm lasted only about an hour but was incredibly intense.
I think Stornoway airport is reporting 93mph as their top gust.

I think Carloway may well be getting a battering @Norrance, they are more exposed to this than us.
Sister in law in Callanish says they can hear the tiles flying off the roof sadly.

Sustained winds at 55mph frequent gusts over 80mph. The intensity of the change here is quite incredible.
Just had two more transformer flashes light up the sky and whole western side of the island is now dark.
4G for the rest of the night it seems.

Really bad here now on west coast of Lewis. Don't expect power to last much longer.
Can see large electric looking flashes coming from the neighbouring island of bernera.

Wow.... The air pressure inside the house is incredible. Can hear things airborne outside hitting the windows, sustained winds over 50mph with frequent gusts into the high 70s
Strongest gust of 78mph from due north, I'm very sheltered here from the north behind a small hill. Guessing speeds will be in excess of 80mph along the sea front

Here we go it seems. Lull didn't last long. Wind has gone south to northwesterly in short time now averaging 25mph gusting over 50mph.
Pressure levelled out around 996.2
Getting pretty noisy outside.
Temp has also dropped from 7.8c to 5.5c over 15mins.

Very calm in the Western isles at the moment.
Dropped from an average of 30mph gusting 45mph from the south to now at 10mph gusting 18mph.
Pressure has rapidly fallen to 996.1 hPa and still falling.
Winds still southerly, expecting a change in direction and speed very soon

Still seeing the pressure drop away here from 107hPa to currently 997.9hPa over two hours.
Wind has just ever so slightly dropped off from an average of 30mph gusting to 45mph to now 22mph gusting 32mph over the last 15 mins or so.
All looks to be within forecast, expecting pressure to bottom out soon and minds swing into the west and north west and pick up again. Shall see soon enough I think

After the earlier balmy 8c and Dp of 7c we’ve seen the wind swing to the NNW and temps have quickly fallen back again to 4.1/3.5c and still falling back.

Would be interesting to see if any of you in the west have pressure readings I’m currently on 960.41 hpa low of 960.11 hpa, temps 2.3C / DP 1.3C
Nice to see those of you that have had snow so far
Currently 956.0 hpa falling more slowly. Think we’re in the middle of the low in the western isles

It's been very noisy up here today, impressive colours on the rainfall radars but very little falling at the moment on the Westside of Lewis. Just big old rumbling storms.

Very lively up here in the Hebrides. Been near constant storms since lunchtime today. Another large cluster developing at the moment.

The local council maritime station recorded 103mph at the pier. Chatter about a sting jet given how it went from gales to 20 mins of calm then 40 mins of 80mph+.
Just a normal gale blowing now
