Pretty much white out conditions here now

Been snowing heavily in Leeds centre for last 20 minutes. Covered cars etc. Nice surprise, still wish I was in South Yorkshire though!
Its been snowing on and off all morning in Roundhay and appears now to have really picked up even though the Met suggests nothing here till later this aft and even then its showing light snow and sleet. Bring it on i say.

Snowing steadily at the moment in Leeds which hasn't been forecast anywhere so i'm optimistic that we will get more here today than either the Met or BBC have been suggesting

Snowing pretty heavy in Leeds city centre. I'm in the train station spoons watching it come down. If this is light snow as per the forecast I can't wait til the heavy snow later tonight.

The met have an amber warning for snow for Leeds showing light snow over night with heavy snow early in the morning

How heavy is it likely to get in Leeds and how long will it last? Sadly, the wife wants me to go for dinner with her so i'll miss the fun tonight.Could it possibly still be going tomorrow so i can leg it down to the park in the morning?

Also, that last BBC forecast is like the ones from early in the day that saw snow.for us from 3pm.tomorrow

Well bbc national weather says it all. A non event for here. I'm sure people in this thread said easterly bringing snow showers-well presenter said snow/showers becoming very light n easing Saturday with a dry weekend!
The BBC forecast just now showed pretty heavy snow moving north over our region with further snow off the east on saturday which is as far as it went. I'm confident we'll get a fair covering as i think it will change again by tomorrow morning.

Anybody panicking from the bbc forecast, take a look at the models. By this aft I'm sure the bbc will show the front getting further east. I find the mountain area forecasts from the meto to be a bit more honest and they give a better idea of the thoughts of the forecasters. The aviation tafs are very reliable too. Showing light snow for leeds bradford in the early hours. Don't just rely on what u see from the graphics, there's a reason they aren't giving much detail about friday night.
The BBC forecast seems to run up to about 6pm then they skip straight to saturday. Very strange. The Met and BBC on line forecasts both have light snow from early evening Friday right through to Monday. I suspect it will all change again tonight and into tomorrow any way so fingers crossed we get a hit
