Just got back from a 23 mile MTB ride across the north downs in Kent. I was expecting the ground to be frozen, but there are still quite a few puddles and the temperature seemed to go up further into the ride. Definitely nowhere near as cold as last night.

Forget the charts and the radar, all I want to know is has yamkin issued the Croydon Council Snow warning and gone out on his gritter yet?

Lookin at the wind forecast we do have a ENE wind flow. I'm on my phone so can't access the forecast of the upper temps. Long way to go but maybe something to look out for
If only that was tonight.

Just drove from Liverpool to Essex. The roads were very quiet. Started off on the M62 and sheet ice and fog, but no snow. Through Staffordshire the snow depths started to pick up. The M1 had a jackknifed lorry which was being crane hoisted from a ditch/field next to the hard shoulder. Rows of abandoned cars on the hard shoulder of the M25 and quite a few snowmen in the fast lane! The M25 anti-clockwise was closed due to an incident around the A10/M25 area. Quite a journey!

Stu, Compelling viewing and had me laughing right the way through.
Just wondering if you have plans to chase anymore storms or has the missus well and grounded you? Would love to see a follow up to this.

Just back from Kent. Anywhere on the main roads east of Gravesend was gridlock. It started getting worrying when I saw cars travelling in the opposite direction with about a foot of snow on them! Travelling on the M2 up towards Bluebell hill, lanes 2&3 had about 6 inches of snow. I tried to come off at the Bluebell hill junction, only to find my car, like most others would not make it up the exit ramp. Several vehicles where stranded there. I then heard on he local radio that Bluebell hill was closed the A249 was closed the M2 and the M20 were severley gridlockled. I continued on to the next junction for the medway towns only to find the same thing, gridlock due to vehicles not being able to make it up the exit ramp. Eventually a snow plough came down the hard shoulder and most people decided to follow that. The amount of snow was just incredible. I saw snow drifts that were at least 2 foot deep. 4 hours to travel 30 miles to get home.

Just when you think it's about to fizzle out and move NW we get the heaviest and most prolonged snow here in SW Essex I've seen throughout this cold snap. Moderate to heavy snow for the last hour.
