Rain just starting in Dagenham, light show to my south.
-
So tomorrow, I have a golf day in South Ockendon. Netweather says no rain, the MetO says rain all day! What one will it be?!
-
Your clearly not doing it right mate I'm only in Upminster a few miles from you and we've had well over 60mph here let alone 40 lol
only going by what it said on the display, no reason for me to doubt it or your readings! city airport has only recorded maximum of 50 in the last hour
-
windy but nothing spectacular here. recorded a couple of 40mph gusts a while ago on a hand held but as I say nothing major.
-
hour on hold before speaking to insurance company, assessor to come round from boxing day onwards... could do without anymore wind later this week as I dont want to lose the rest of the roof. The driving rain penetrated the inside of the loft as well but only a few drips made it to the boards. Worth checking out if you havent already,

Lost two fence panels and a roof ridge tile. Sons goal also blew over the fence.
Trying to get hold of a roofer to fix the tile isnt easy and the ones I have spoken to have said go through insurance company as it will be cheaper - 'supply and demand' he said. Happy Christmas!

wet and windy but nothing more really for me (Dagenham). Setup a budget weather station in the garden today - http://www.gillham.me.uk/weather - wind samples are only every 56 seconds so probably missed some stronger gusts but nothing exciting recorded so far.
-
Wow, a mahoosive shower here in Dagenham too. Came out of knowhere, absolutely battered it down and its just stopped. About five mins of torrential rain and that was it.

Boom. thunder in Dagenham. Much better weather this than the cold.

Same here, today I dont want anything as playing golf this afternoon but tomorrow I am off to Cambridge so hopefully see some action on the way back.Yesterday was a great big fat disapointment in my neck of the woods - lets hope any storms that develop are more widespread today!
-
It's all started off a bit too far East for my liking, is it possible that anything can develop behind this line now or do you just have to 'lump it' if you're sitting a few miles to the West of it?
thats how i feel, heard some rumbles but i just seem on the wrong edge of it.
-
first rumble - Dagenham - from the south of my shed...
-
no snow yet and three nil down...
-
Any thoughts for Sheffield area? Playing golf there today and dont want to be clobbered by lightening!
-
Couple of Thunder Cracks, 5 mins of heavy rain andnow the suns out
lucky you, it all went dark, 30 second shower, really distant rumble, and that was that.

Just done the school run and during that time went from sunny to pitch black and when I got in temp had dropped from 8.4 to 5.1 in half hour.
Very black and windy out there now.
