Put mines on for a bit earlier, 16c but the wind giving a chill coming in from North East

Drawing in quickly here in the central belt of Scotland.
The rain of the last few days have made the dullness after 8:30pm so much more noticeable.
Sunset at 21:06 but by the end of the month 53 minutes earlier. Its creeping up fast.
A couple of tree’s here are slowly showing their autumnal colours but I believe this is due to infection.I enjoy all seasons but the colours of Autumn and those misty mornings are a great sight to see

It’s mid August - question for you...has anyone seen any wasps? I think I’ve seen 3 all month. Where are they all? I’m not complaining, i detest the things. But there must be a reason why there are so few (around here, anyway). The very dry spring, maybe? Or some weird consequence of lockdown measures earlier in the year.
Anyone know?
Not seen many either where I live in Central Scotland.
I’ve got at least 2 causing havoc in the house and when sitting with a beer out in the garden they always seem to find itIm thinking they are saving themselves up for the end of the month to bombard us.

Sounds like things have been even worse up in Scotland then! I mean we've had a lot of days here where temps have struggled to get above the low teens but to have temps in single figures during waking hours in July is absolutely ridiculous!
The rain to compliment the temps that day as well was horrendous
Hopefully we can recover Summer through August and September, not asking for much after a terrible Summer so far in Central Scotland.

9.1C at 2pm in July!!!
Are you sure it was correct? Yesterday was pretty chilly tbh but I still managed 13.8C. I've never witnessed single figure temperatures during the day in July before.
I drove from Scotland to preston on Sunday July 5th and at 2pm near the Scottish border it was showing 8c!
Felt like a January day.

Notice something odd as I was driving today, the amount of leaf litter on pavements and side of roads and leaves falling off trees and they were leaves that had changed colour as well. As I was driving through Monton Green, it looked more like October than late August with the leaves falling. It's a good area to take autumnal photos of trees changing colour.
Not sure why the leaves are falling off now? It's not been dry at all.
Noticed the tree showing signs of Autumn the last two weeks here with leaves starting to fall. Been a lot of rain the last few weeks here too.
I don't remember the leaves changing at this time of year before.

My house is the old metal framed and cant get the cavity insulation, any fluctuations in temperature makes the house too warm orr too cold respectively. Plus the daughter and wife always complaining they are too cold
-
Heating on for 15 minutes again this morning with outside temp down to 6c.

Weather station in my garden is at 21c with a strong southerly wind and a shower is just blowing in.
Was quite the shock when I stepped out into the garden.
I think this will be be the most pleasant temps until next year now.
Roll on the cold front to transition us into the cooler months ahead.
