Just traveled home from Uckfield to near Tunbridge Wells, roads not too bad, though two rear end shunts on the Uckfield bypass, not sure why, other than they were travelling too close together. Ashdown Forest road up past Fairwarp begining to get a bit tricky.
After a respite, snow now intesifying and larger flakes.

Anyone here from my area
Hi Tom, down in Uckfield @ work, nothing down here. Live up in Groombridge so hopefully tomorrow mornings journey should be interesting over the top of Ashdown Forest.

Currently at work in Uckfield, pic is the River Uck rising quite well. Still another 10ft or so before in reaches the levels during the floods of 2000. From experience, it only needs one of the sluices to get blocked or closed further downstream, before Lewes, and the water can back up extremely quickly.
The river is normally only about 6ft wide at this point and in a 10ft cutting, the top of the river bank is about 4ft below the current level.

Winds picked up again, visibility dropped and still heavy snow. Reminicent of when in RAF and working with helicopters collecting patients and trying to land/take off in the snow, total white out.
