Shame really as the conditions are almost perfect for settling snow. Uppers low, wind flow good, air and dp temp low, ground icy. Just pressure too high. Typical that the best setup all winter is spoilt by HP moving in.
Prittle brook streamer maybe lol

Shockingly there are a few flakes of snow falling from the sky here. Despite partly cloudy skies and the sun being out.
In chelmsford; wow :O hoping for something in Leigh, still had nothing 2 years and waiting

There is a slim chance that there will be disruptive snow on Tuesday night into Wednesday in this region. This was always a marginal event and now we're moving away from snow to cold rain. We just needed the current air (uppers) to be colder and the angle of attack to be more acute to prevent the warmer uppers and warmer dew points coming into the mix.
Maybe next time?
Early days, i have a good feeling about this one

i can confirm... very quick snow shower in leigh on sea... in about four flakes have settled on the car

got a good 9cm level, and there is a field up the road from me, and the road nnext toit, there is a drift, about 4 foot, most ive ever seen

was watching this on flight radar, i think tios a bit of both, that airport is always really windy, open spaceAn Easyjet flight from Belfast to Southend had a slight problem in the last 15 minutes. 4 times it circled the airfield including buzzing my house before it had to abort on its 5th attempt and diverted to Stanstead where it landed safely. I can only guess the crosswinds were to blame unless the snow is exceptionally heavy over there!!

amazing here in leigh, this from essex weather too Essex Weather Centre â€@EssexWeather
Snow is developing more widespread and heavier than modelled at the moment. Likely to be some impressive totals by morning.

PS The latest Met Office update throught to February has changed to near normal temperatures and rain and away from the return of any cold as it has been showing for the past couple of days.
