  1. Davis Vanatge Vue excellent if you dont mind an all in one WS, price £300.

Very accurate temps and rain, and wind if you stick it high up.

eew, a little more pricy than I was hoping, but the accuracy is what matters, especially if your going to share your reading online. I'm sure I can get my husband to find a good location and place it somewhere high up for me :-)

  2. I hope this isn't to much off topic.

I am thinking of getting a wireless pc weather station thing, for my garden, do any of you have any opinions/advice as to what works well for the price. There is a huge choice on the market, it's a bit confusing

Snow is melting fast on the roads here and the temperature is currently 0.9c It's all a bit of a slushy mess, but at least we've had a good slice of the cake this year :-) can't really complain

  3. Yeah, was very hit and miss down there, but it's where I saw the heaviest snow and covered roads. Everything around Leicester just look wet. As others are saying, I do think things are very localised!

If its any conciliation to us in the midlands, it's nothing epic in Luton either, just a dusting really. They've had the same problem with the amount of rain that fell today combined with the not so low temperatures.

  4. Just got the train up from London to East Midlands Parkway... From what I could see, heaviest snow was around the Luton area. The closer to the East Midlands I got the wetter things looked. The roads and pavements are completely clear, with the last white platform being Kettering.

Really, I'm surprised I've not had a text from my brother in Luton and some snowy pics. I can usually rely on him to keep me posted on whats happening down tere lol

  5. I've not posted but I have been following the thread the last couple of days, some great banter btw.

Temperatures here have gone from, 4.9 this morning to 3.7 earlier, and I've just been out again and it's now 2.1. So the signs are looking promising at the moment. The rain has been relentless all day, but there's definate signs of change, I'm hoping to sea a change to more snow like precipitation in the next hour or so

  6. OMG i can see why, there is all orange but there is a little white box, above nuneaton where hinckley is? Can you see it Polar?

Thanks for the link. is that updated throughout the morning?

    Depressed now, sob sob!!wallbash.gif

It seems to be coming down quite fast, where I am in Hinckley.

I have heard from locals in the past, that Hinckley is in a kind of trough (not sure on the spelling of that)!! And is generally protected from the worst of the weather. Has anyone else heard of this myth? When we had that really heavy snow a couple of years ago, Hinckley had nothing compared to pretty much everywhere else around the country.
