Quite heavy sleet/rain now.
-
Absolutely black here, but absolutely nothing happening
-
Yep no surprise. I expect Wakering/Barling etc were similar!
Crikey we had 2 foot + drifts here in Southend.
One of my friends on Facebook put it up, on the way to their stables, and the one below. I work in Southend so did see some of them, there was some around the roundabout along Sutton Rd/Eastern Ave which were massive.

6am this morning near Canewdon.

Wish it would hit Rayleigh. We've had nothing for about an hour now. Blow some our way, pretty please :-)
Really? Its like a blizzard out the window here in Rochford at the moment!
-
The snow in Southend this morning (around 5:45am) was some of the heaviest i have ever seen, covered everything in just a few mins and the wind made visibility next to nothing. Sadly it only lasted about 20 mins before dying away.
-
Been lightly snowing here for around 30 mins or so.
-
I'm seeing a lot of people mentioning Wednesday night, but the Met are forecasting temps of 8 degrees Thursday and Friday so 'if' there is anything it will be extremely short lived surely? At least last nights covering stayed around for a couple of hours today!
-
Well certainly wasn't expecting that, last time i looked we has heavy sleet, no settling. Now we have 1cm over everything, still coming down heavy but only small flakes. How long will it continue to do so though?
-
Heavy sleet now, certainly not settling but you can here it hitting the ground
-
Finally appears to be turning to snow now...
-
Currently heavy rain/sleet here.
-
Sorry but the Temps for Monday will keep up a thaw so it wont last long.
Not actually expecting anything here as its is a rain to snow event going to be too wet and temps wont go below 0.
May see something but not going to last long and could be VERY slushy wet snow.
Wont the wind chill help the temps, or does that not make any difference?

You sure?, nothing on Met Office for SE about tonight. Nice suprise for some tonight though. Can't slate the forecasters as couldn't have predicted this synoptically.
These features fall in the micro to mesoscale range, but nowhere near significant enough to call a bad forecast.
Yep, was saying heavy at 3am and 6am this afternoon, then had changed to just 6am by the evening. There was light snow forecast for this evening but again that changed to just cloud earlier as well.

Met Office have been saying heavy snow all day for tonight, but it wasn't meant to hit until the early hours of Thursday.
-
Light snow in Rochford for the past 10 mins or so.
-
Picked up here again but still just the tiny stuff, must have made around 6cm since this morning.
-
Shouldn't really moan as it's hasn't stopped all day but we really are bang out of luck here with regard to the heavy stuff, been in this light window for hours now!
Yep, despite snowing since around 8am, the actual depth hasn't increased since about 10am!
-
So is the forcast saying heavier snow this afternoon? I'm slightly north of Southend, thanks.
-
Still gonna have to believe it when i see it after yesterday's hugely depressing outcome
-
Met Office sitting on the fence? saying light snow tonight might turn heavier, light snow tomorrow might become more widespread later
I wouldn't bother with them anymore, they were saying heavy where i am from 3pm yesterday, but we didn't get anything but very very light snow until evening time, and most of that has bloody melted now!
-
How far inland do these 'streamers' push?
-
VERY light snow in Rochford...
