  1. well woke this morning to around 2 inchs of snow. what a superb radar watch evening was had by all.

Understand the frustration of those who watched as it passed them by with nothing been there many times before.

Not looking good for tonight , but then we were sat here last night thinking the same.

wonderfull thing the weather and especially predicting snow.

  2. as others have said i am surprised that the intensity has stayed and not just fizzled out to nothing long before it got near any of us.

close watch of the radar has shown it intensifying in places.

A quality radar lampost watch evening , one i was not expecting at all.

really can not see this area of PPn getting any further west than Bristol.

which is a surprise as earlyer i was thinking it wasnt going to get here

  3. Good thing with this PPN heading North to south for anyone who gets the PPN it will be snow even towards the coast , this is because the land is colder than the sea and wind direction is across the cold ground.

lets hope it holds togeather for us all to see a bit and keep heading in the direction it is , certainlly no eastward movement.

  4. The Cotswold and Wessex Downs will catch most of it I'd imagine and then it's a question of whether it makes it South of the M4 in tact.  :hi:

certainlly got a bit of a run on in the last update, Oxford dissapearing!!

Agree the M4 muncher might scupper our chances. First signs of it breaking alittle.

0.2mm of snizzle is my prediction for us

  5. strikes me that this winter is showing the ECM is as OTT with an easterly feed as the GFS is with the westerly feed.

Yes this one progged is different in many ways but got that feeling it wont be as fantastic as the charts are showing at this time.

Nice to see an easterly feed without an atlantic HP holding up any progress.

Thinking another close but no cigar is on its way.

Looking forward to some dry weather though before mid week next week.

  6. A wet day today down here, and again tomorrow, interesting hearing from folks so close (+-75miles) having very different circumstances.

No surprise on that though. Think I'll get down to Tesco grab some cider and ignore tomorrow's rain...

might be closer to 40 miles to here as the crow flies, all to do with elevation, would guess the snow line was around 100mtrs today, we are at 115mtrs here!, outlaws who live 7miles away have had snow n but nothing laying. we went upto the caurseway this morning at nearly 200mtrs and it was white up there while we had slush.

Only white on the grass now any on the roads has gone.
