Heavy snow in Oldbury. Cars covered and even the pavements and road. Can't believe it everywhere was saturated up to an hour ago.

Just made a journey from Hagley to Oldbury. It was snowing in Hagley and as the journey progressed it gradually turned to wet snow. Shows how marginal it is under current conditions and how elevation can make a difference in the temperatures,
Correction - It was raining in Hagley and turned to wet snow over the journey.

Can confirm moderate snow for the last 20mins in Oldbury, Sandwell. The size of the flakes has increased also.

Still snowing heavily and has been for several hours. Lets hope the lying snow will keep the temperature down. The main road out of Birmingham City Centre (Hagley Road) is down to 10mph in Quinton. The other half has decided to go back to her office after going nowhere. Hoping that it will clear and she will make it home later.
Can anyone tell me what the temperature is in Birmingham at the moment? Will it rise sufficiently to turn any showers into rain?

Snow in the Quinton Area of Birmingham has been snowing heavy for well over an hour. The car park at my apartments and roofs of houses opposite had thawed. Now there is a fresh blanket of over an inch and its getting deeper. Went on an old walk of nostalgia and ended up having to push a van up the hill. Driver had to abandon it in the end. An amazing couple of days unlike anything since 1991.
The bbc forecast is saying 3c for Birmingham tonight. How marginal is this? Could snow showers persist through the night?

I think that's down to the slightly higher elevation. On the flip side, this event has really only just begun and yesterday it started to settle in your area an hour or so later than us.
