Currently low confidence in the detail, but the weekend weather looks very unsettled - heavy rain and strong winds in the forecast. Nina R

I think the roads (m4, M40, M25,M1) are going to be horrendous tomorrow rush hour!
I think it is crazy, but as pointed out above, due to being a blame culture, it is all about preventing risk and saving money.
On a weather note, here in Slough, Berkshire it has been a gusty day and recently started to rain (lightly). However the strange thing is the wind has now died down

Rain now commenced, am torn as to what to call these clouds as they honestly don't appear cb. Id say they now look more like stratus clouds. Really difficult to understand this setup I have to say, from viewing the radar and others posts I would expect towering cb and the odd rumble to be approaching by now.
Anyone here from Reading/Basingstoke able to confirm what they are getting, as a shield seems to have placed itself over Bracknell/Guildford/Slough etc at the moment.

There is some promising build up of cloud in Slough travelling North.
Very muggy again and weather station says 29.7c

Same here in Slough, just a few loud bangs. We did though have about 15 minutes of heavy rain to boot too
