Another report from Nottingham:

Crazy clouds rotating overhead, constant stereo thunder from all over. No visible lightning at all. No rain at present.

Clouds are rotating generally clockwise as viewed from the ground. Various breaks in the cloud giving brief views of blue sky.

Just enjoyed comedy rain for about 35 minutes in Nottingham. Constant torrential downpour, occasional close lightning and thunder.

WH1080 weather station rain reading was ticking up as I watched. About 40 mm in that time, and that's an under-measurement as a lot of rain splashes out again when it's very heavy. Most impressive!

Forked lightning over Nottingham, 22/7/13 21:44 BST. Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2, set to manual focus.

This discharge was one of at least three that fired in very rapid succession.

Nottingham: Light rain interspersed with heavy showers. Broken low cloud. Occasional rumbles of thunder. Enjoyed terrific storm yesterday 21:30-22:30. Intense storm 05:00 onwards today. 19mm rain recorded so far. 19C now.

It's been a marvellous show so far, with the possibility of more later today.
