What a surprise -- a school shutting early !
A decision made by the powers that be....me I just do as I'm told LOL But it does make you wonder why? I can remember walking to school in feet of snow as a kid, travelling to work back in the 80's in feet of snow and getting on with life as normal back in 91 ( last time we had feet of snow) Just heard from a friend and this will probably only interest people who know the area, but shops in Staines are closing from 4pm to allow staff to travel home safely!

Good Afternoon all
First chance I've had today to pop into the forum! Went to work this morning just after 8am nothing here! But by 9am we had a covering followed by heavy snow around midday. Now have 5 inches laying snow and it's still snowing...much more than I expected. I work in a local school and we started to send the children home early so now home myself, what a fab way to start the weekend
Temp -2 DP -2

I saw about 10 flakes of very small snow floating in the air in the 2 minute walk from asda to my car just now.
Just been out in the back garden ( Bedfont) couldn't actually see anything but could feel something in the air! Now I know I WASN'T imagining it LOL

Good Morning all, Not sure if I am actually still alseep and dreaming but the Met office now have now put us down for heavy snow for tomorrow, with the threat of further showers well into next week!! Trying really hard not to get too excited
Anyway current temp minus 4, dew point minus 5.

Anyone to the West of London reporting anything?
Nothing to report from this part of West London!

I'm listening to the Ground frequency and it sounds like they are using both runways for arrivals, and departing aircraft are being held. Pilots are saying they are missing their "holdover times", which is the window that anti-icing is valid for, and having to return to the gate to be de-iced again, only to go back in a departure queue.........
Thought it had gone quiet! Last plane that went over our house was about twenty minutes ago and I was thinking blimey an inch of snow and the airport is still managing to operate...almost unheard of LOL (Sorry if your an airport worker only joking!!)

Tept. of 9.0 and raining here.
No snow expected.
B.A.A. are going to look very silly if the snow forecast for Heathrow doesn't materialize
Been snowing here around Heathrow for the last hour, albeit light but the flakes are pepping up :-)
