Well it's 29C in Aberdeen now, so a chance for it to pass its record which from memory was 30C.
A breeze has got up but my temp gauge has hit 30C here now.

And about 30C in Aberdeen on Thursday? Would that be pushing the all-time record?

Right through this spell we've been on the wrong side of marginal be it precip, height or anything else. What we've got this morning as a perfect example of this - cold, wet, damp rain. Forecast still claiming snow later but I've long given up on this. Unless its an old-style sustained northerly then winters of old are finished.

Minimum sna here... bit of hail now rain (Temp +3/Dew +1). No snow or minimal at best... again! What an underwhelming winter.

Just cold rain. What has happened to Aberdeen over recent winters?

And forecast for us today - rain, rain, rain. Just not been cold enough here for sustained snow and that's the story of our winter so far.

No snow here, the precip has kept away. Mind you had there been any, would have been rain. Temp was +5C! A classic modified winter for us!!

Rain showers. Apart from that brief wintry spell Xmas Eve I've seen nothing sustained or worthwhile. A big fat bust for us. We just can't get the winds far enough into the north for long enough in wintertime these days.

It seems the models have been showing a cooler pattern for several weeks now with the Atlantic well and truly 'switched off'. However, it also seems that there's no proper cold to the north and east of us to hence why we're still getting rain / icy conditions at sea level. These synoptics look ideal for a really cold winter if only there was some true Polar / Continental air to tap into.
Zero the way things are going, we will shortly be the EX-snow capital of the UK!! The days of long-lived northerlies that were not modified & came straight off the Arctic into NE Scotland are quite the rarity now! Nowadays they are short-lived if they ever get properly established at all, & are very much modified! Never mind, maybe next year..... (ps. nice day here today)

I think the worst of this has moved away north & offshore, but still raining, & still some bright flashes of lightning - loud crack of thunder just now.

Rain & thunder I think have eased off, but we are still getting flashes of lightning, quite a bright one just now.

Storms now arrived in Aberdeen. Torrential rain, frequent lightning & loud thunder. There was mention we're under an amber warning.

Err.... I think the storms have now officially arrived in Aberdeen. Took their time arriving but absolutely here now, complete with loud thunder & now heavy/torr rain.

Our airport definitely expecting storms but the sky here looks like it has for most of the day. Cloudy/hazy, temp high teens.

Fog. That is all.

Holy moly, must have been a positive CG just then !
Been watching the York railcam - it was bright, I know that!!!

We are back to very heavy rain again - but minus anything electrical.

Had a peak at the weather radar. Still plenty red around us, I think there is another line out to our west. Is quieter at present though, rain and thunder have died down. Most recent lightning plotted appears to be almost an hour ago so maybe the electrical activity is dying out for the day. Not necessarily the rain though!
