Just about a Kent clipper even that was a close call. Nothing for Sussex then. Oh well. Slim chance tomorrow
-
Lightning looks to be dieing to the west of it..doesn't look as so good for Sussex but good for kent
-
Look at the precipitation to the north west of France. That is our best chance! Don't give up yet! It is not even going to reach us until midnight so hold on :-) I am just talking about Sussex eastwards
-
Fine place I say!
Northern France going nuts - like last night, question mark is where the storms will track. Need a more NE shunt than the ENE track last night!
Looks to be on the same track the cells last night. the ones over north East France. We need to look more west for ours. It's 50/50 at the moment
-
Looks to be roughly the same track as last night. Showers are initiating further west but not in the right boundary layer.
-
I was hoping things would be more south and East today. But well done to Meto getting it spot on

I still think it will shift 50 miles or so east than progged
-
My prediction is all the energy being released later than Saturday. Probably into Sunday with it initiating further East as the cold Front moves in. I would delay the front by 12 hours
-
It is all further south than forcast. We will just get rain by the looks of it
-
Looks as though it will just be mostly rain with a few rumbles. The storm is only at the back of the one off the SE and hasn't moved. Just rain moving in now
-
Seems to be stuck in the channel towards Sussex. Front of the main cell seems to die of at it makes inroads. I think thundery rain is in store
-
I can still see the top of the clouds lighting up every 2 seconds all the way down here in Sussex. That is a beauty! !
-
Very intense localised storm. Well Jel! ;-)
-
a few lucky ones currently receiving storms in a narrow belt running in a sw to nw conveyor around or to the west of London....great fun for those underneath, but a gnashing of teeth for those to the west and east of this train of thunderstorms
I know that feeling. Definitely cleared up here now in Crawley but I can see the constant flashes up t north
-
Clear skies now in West Sussex. That isolated band looks to be about it
-
Looks to me as it is going to be very isolated south of London as BBC and Meto have forcast. More hope later on when the trough moves above London
-
Regarding the plume, my forecast is that storms will kick off within and only in the 15C line, west/north-west of the shortwave....so its looking like a SE event, with most of the UK missing out.
Seems a good shout to me
-
I do think everything has moved East a little and earlier than expected. I don't think it will develop along the trough until it is at least past London
-
Anyone find a Webcam in Keil in the north. Looks most potent there
-
Anyone got any links to any German Web cams,
-
Quite lucky in Crawley West Sussex last night. It really did develop quickly over head and got more intense as developed moving towards South London. I saw the towers developing right over head and it was so quick. Just a few miles south they had nothing so just shows you how quick it can be. Saw some stunning CG strikes. Got alot more potent as it moved north
-
Towers starting to go up south of me in Crawley.
-
Best to gauge how it's going to pan out around midnight. To me it is developing further south than predicted so if veering NNW South East in for more of a chance
-
No "H" word said by Carol on Wimbledon so we are in for a good night
