That would just be our (bad) luck but for once I am little bit more optimistic for the next couple of days. Dewpoints are negative and with easterly winds ahead of the front likely to remain low, temps not much above freezing and evaporative cooling will help to keep them low, at least for a few hours. MetO forecast for Penygroes toggles between light snow and sleet a.m. before turning to rain p.m. but amazingly shows heavy snow again Friday a.m. So, all might not be lost in the kingdom of Gwynedd!?!
It’s looking heavy on the radar, but very small flakes blowing in the wind here lol. What is it like over there?
yeah it does look good tomorrow morning

Im in the yellow warning area for tomorrow in the north,,. but all i can see happening here is rain/ sleet at best… Snow 150m and above i’d say… enjoy whoever gets some!

Is that band slowly shifting north with each run?

I suppose it won’t reach north wales then? Poor cold spell this is turning out to be, for here anyway

Had my wish granted - a slight flurry of very tiny flakes in bright sunshine this morning. As they say, 'Count your blessings!' Just hope Thursday's snow/sleet will stick to the 'timetable' and not make a dash much earlier as I'm going to see 'The King and I' musical in Llandudno Wednesday evening. Travelling on coastal roads, I'm not too concerned atm but one never knows what the weather gods have in mind!?
Hope your right with the thursday. I see there’s a yellow warning out for us.. just wondering will the temps be too warm where we are for settling snow though??
-
Forecast temps risen again. Can’t see us getting anything now. . 4-7c daytime temps mon-thur , perhaps sleet/hail at best during night time.
as much as I love snow.. roll on spring

GFS 18z folks first snows look like hitting us Monday night into Tuesday Morning!
Won’t get my hopes up. With day time temps of 3-5c can’t see any settling snow, you might be lucky up in the hills where you are though.

Well that was another disappointing cold snap, had a feeling the temps would of been a little to high for here anyway… on 2 the next, not a flake yet again so far this winter!
-
Just on and off hail here, but melting fast after stopping. Temps much higher than last night. shame it didn’t come then lol.

Doesn't look very snowy

I’ve learnt a lesson not to look at thse charts lol iphone weather app is much more accurate. If that doesn’t show snow in my area then it won’t snow. Pretty accurate everytime to be fair. daytime next week is 3-5c not much of a cold snap.

So, Is it snow only inland/ elevated areas next week then?? Looking at forecast, temps doesn’t seem to be cold enough to stick, coastal areas anyway…

It's not a radar fault so to speak, it's that the air is so dry beneath the cloud that the snow is evaporating before it reaches the ground. As the precip becomes heavier and the air beneath less dry, it should start to reach ground level.
Whats the different with the air in the south then?

Same as week or two ago, where it came down in the south and bone dry in the north . Must be False radar for north or something this winter
-
Roll on nice warm spring sunshine , and leave this crap ‘nothing falling from the sky’ winter behind us i’d say.

So annoying radar has showed snow for past hour and nothing, now the clouds seem to be getting lighter
So frustrating, when it rains here it a whole different story.

Nothing here, even though the radar says differently, knowing my luck it will be repeat of other week, where it evaporates before hitting the ground!

How likely is the snow to stick around coastal areas tomorrow? Or is it inland areas only that will see snow sticking?
