Is this system further north than forecast?

Just a little point......the tops speeds of 115mph recorded in 1987....was just before the recording equipment got blown away. So likely higher....poss 120/125/130mph

Listen....I am a veteran of the old Beeb Board (while still in my 20s!) and Met Monkey and lived thru 87 and 90....at 12 and 14 respectively. Please stay in tmrw! Forget where u are told to be. U only get one life. I still get flashbacks to both storms having lost all tiles and felting in both in a very exposed location in Woodingdean, Brighton. So....please dont say....bring it on. Please all stay safe and follow the advice. Take care out there! Stef (repost from Storm Thread for locals!)

Quickly....Oct 1987 Great Storm, Feb 1991 Cold Snap, Jan 1990 Storm, I remember also various Blizzards and alike as a child just cannot pinpoint...also someone mentioned about darkness in June in Poole....I can remember same in Brighton...it was a Sunday! Prolonged Showers and Sussex Flooding Oct 2000, and again....csn't pinpoint but some amazing Thunderstorms Imported from France......only seemed to happen as a kid...1983/4/5/7/1989. And finally....I know its technically not weather...but I was in Rouen in Aug 1999 for Total Eclipse.

Very sudden squall on back edge of that Rain as it passed in NE Brighton. Blew my window shut and sound of loose items blowing around. No idea of gust speed. All over now within a minute.
