Went and measured from a undisturbed spot in the garden about an hour ago and we had reached 8.5cm in Kesgrave (just outside Ipswich).
Slowing a little in intensity at the moment but we are still under the snow so more to come I would think.
Just goes to show how localised this was, currently at 16+ cm in Trimley!

Been persistent snow here from 7.30am...right in the sweet spot a few miles in on the Suffolk coast. Getting on for 4 inches with no signs of it stopping!

Do you think being on the coast in Suffolk will make much of a difference to snow depth? With the temperatures being as they are (at 0) I'm surprised snow depth charts still tail off accumulations about 5 miles in from the coast still?

Really strange how its creating a void over Ipswich and felixstowe, it did this earlier in the week?!

Don't know if the forecasts are overdoing temps but it's been 1c in Ipswich all day, supposed to be 4-5c??? Strange

looks like felixstowe getting hit last i time spoke to my sister in law they had over a foot a building
its getting close! It LOOKS like a foot but when you measure it properly its about 9-10, still crazy amounts for felixstowe!

10 inches here in felixstowe and counting, been snowing non stop for a good few hours

Amazing that parts of East Ipswich saw 5 inches of snow last night, and to the west of Ipswich there is around 2/3 inches - big difference in just 4 miles, but that's snow for you
Hopefully more to come later on today... these snow showers around the wash are way too north for me !

Thought is was all dying out but comming down heavy again in Felixstowe!!!
Bodes well for anyone further south!!
Going to reach a foot of snow soon (25cm currently!!), and am really worried i'm not going to get out of my road without a snow plough clearing it first!!

i just posted this in the model section all i can is more snow snow and dumping snow!!!!! 10 and the 11th of Jan, plus my sister in lawphoned us she 10 miles at the coast in felixstowe they had 8 inches us hardly an inch !!!!
Its no way near that! 4 at most

here on the suffolk coast its been snowing heavily for 20 minutes, about 2cm everywhere now, including roads and paths, most beautiful snow ive ever seen!

snowing here, got about 0.5 cm in 10 minutes. add that to over 2 inches from last night
so much snow here!!!
