Nothing in Swindon, fingers crossed for the storms in the Channel

That's work finished for the day, and things are looking good for this evening! Unfortunately I'm up early so can't go chasing so hopefully the storms will come to me.

Bristol area looks good to me currently! The highest MU cape values decrease further west as the night progresses, which I assume is the Theta E values dropping, but still very strong nosing up in to the Bristol area.
Tough call this one! Do I stay in Cirencester, or do I get to Durdle Door for an evening swim and go from there ???? I'll get it wrong either way, guaranteed!
Pity there is nothing surface based tomorrow eve/night - wind fields are right for some supercells it looks like, although just marginally - still, some organisation making for an interesting night anyway.
Good luck all! Samos
I'm near you in Swindon, I think we should stay put.

Possible MCS running from the south coast to the central belt?
Yes, straight over Swindon

Fingers crossed yet again here in Swindon, I wait in hope!

Not a lot going on if you're in the south or south west, I think it's game over for today.

Temperature is mid 20s now and rising here in Swindon, it looks like the storm in Cambridge was spawned around Swindon if you look on the radar loop.Hopefully as the temps increase the more widespread storms in the south will become.

Time to get in my chosen position and wait!!!!
Heading mid way up the A34, Tothill services to use / steal Mcdonalds electricity.
Like the look of any tail end charlies that can form in this area with a fair bit of wind shear and bucket loads of CAPE as the move East
Woooo-Hoooo
Good luck Dave, I think the storms will develop around Bristol and be active over in the east.

Precipitation beginning to form just south of Oxford along the line of developing cloud.
I've noticed this too, just over Abingdon. Just developed out of nowhere.

Thanks for that, just looked outside and it's antmageddon out there.
Not looking forward to leaving work now!
I'm in Swindon and haven't seen any?

Swindon is baking hot at 31c, gutting to think that there will be no storms after days of these temps!

We are parked at a very wet and windy Beachy head. Still lots of lightning and crawlers filling the sky. What a night!!

We have driven from Swindon to Brighton and are continuing towards Beachy head where we will stop. Loads of Lightning and torrential rain!!

Ok guys we are currently heading east on the A27 near Chichester continuing towards Brighton. We've seen lots of flashes and it's currently tipping down!

I was going to say you should probably go east further than that right away and then I realised that from Swindon your alternative to going via the A34/M3/M27 route is... not great unless you're committed to going right the way to Brighton. So yeah, hitting the M27 and then keeping on churning along the A27 as far east as you need to is probably the way to go.
Yeap we are east bound M4 now!

Had a short lived downpour and a couple of big booms. Sky is an incredible orange colour thuogh. I'm off to the gym shortly so kets hope round 2 doesn't kick off til I get there. (quite happy to get soaked on way back though!)
Similar here in Swindon, the sunrise was incredible with a strange orange glow! Just a few rumbles and it tracked north towards you.

Woken around 05.00 to deep booms and a weird orange sunrise! Not the best of storms but it's a start! Looks like Sunday into Monday could be better.

I have been fortunate to have seen storms in Arizona and California. What a fantastic video.
-
I could just hear the thunder from the Newbury storm in Swindon, hopefully should see lightning as it gets dark.

It might be equipped with satnav.
When I played the storm on radar it's following the M4 exactly (moving west), very weird!
