Starting to lay here on grass cars etc
Sounds promising for us a bit further west some big flakes now, heaviest of the day so far...

That's tropical lol. I'm in hassocks the other side of the downs and it's 1 degree here now and a pretty keen bite in the air the last hour or so.
It’s only 1 degree in Worthing too...

Nice picture, i keep looking at the radar but it does have that sense of inevitability that it will miss our location!!
wow, it's pretty painful to watch that precip slipping southwestwards, especially as the temps are the right side of marginal now - from an IMBY perspective, is there any other precip expected to make it to the soutcoast tonight?
I see the Metoffice still have a warning for snow for our area between 6am - 10am tomorrow, or is this just wishful thinking?
Glad to see some people have manage to get a decent covering tonight anyway...
I'll just post this pic here of the halo moon, and it's little mate Jupiter, as a consolation !

Coming down nicely and sticking in Worthing.

In Worthing looks like its turning from sleet back to snow
sure is! I love the weekends in Brighton but not sure the timing is great this time round - watching the sleet drive in from the sea is a little frustrating knowing at home with a bit of altitude I'd be sharpening the crampons ready for the freeze up tomorrow. Mind you, the pier here is much better thanthe one at home..
Anyone Shoreham, Worthing way? What's happening where you are? Hoping the second wave will bring back the snow.

It has stopped in Brighton now too. However according to the MetO radar, Brighton may get some more light flurries any time now.. I say may because we are right on the edge of the ppn - unless it shifts a bit west!!
I hope you get to go sledging - I hope to at some point today too
Lunch time sledging it is then!!
I am off to Hill Barn Golf course

I work from home anyway.. some people say this is a good thing in this weather but unlike the people who can't make it into the office - I still have to work !!
Yeah I know what you mean, WFH is good and bad, hoping to get out for some sledging but I have an afternoon of conference calls
Looks like the snow didn't get as far as Worthing!!

Yeahhhhh... its snowing here in Brighton now.. not that heavily but I hope we get what is over Burgess Hill right now - my boss has just emailed me saying they have really heavy snow.. she said blizzard..!!
I am in Worthing, nothing yet, I should be working in Burgess Hill but decided to WFH instead, don't think any of my team made it in either!

Temp in burgess hill is -0.2 and Dew -1.2
Hi Jojo,
I work in Burgess Hill, but didn't get in today, how are the roads doing, am thinking another work from home day may be on the cards tomorrow!!
Thanks

I will have my work@business/net weather weather laptop with me as usual (but with one eye on the telly with a bar or two of chocalate!) till late evening as I often do when I'm not working - but won't be doing any early morning shifts
Hi Tamara,
I do the same with my work laptop, 'working from home' tomorrow just incase!!!

this is indeed v exciting Nick. My partner however will not allow me to stay up all night twitching the curtains and looking at the models (sounds quite a seedy activity doesnt it) . Please can you enlighten me on what the triple point showing on the meto could mean? does this indicate intensification of precipitation?
Hi Jimmyay
mine dosn't really understand either, I am in worthing about 2 miles from the sea so although looking marginal am getting very excited..
