Cripes. What started off about punishing deniers has descended into defining what a denier actually is. Get a grip! Does it matter? Unless you're a rabid 'stop climate change in its tracks right now' kind of guy, it means you don't care a hoot and are effectively a denier, whatever your leaning may be. I'm a fully paid-up member of that club (though I haven't actually paid anything to anyone). All I asked earlier was why are 'believers' so hell-bent on inducting everyone into their church? It's like those motorcycle gangs where you have to endure initiation rites or woe betide.

How old are you, then: 300!
I'm 54, hence plenty old enough to remember times that most of today's climate change protagonists weren't even around for. Makes you wonder if they actually know what they're talking about, rather than what they're told. If anyone can demonstrate that the weather has changed significantly and,most importantly 'abnormally' across those decades (especially for the worse, as climate change is always about), then I'm all ears. But good luck with that. What's wrong with being a denier anyway? Does it really matter if someone isn't on the train, in the grand scheme of things? Why is it so pressing that no-one remains unconvinced? It has indeed become a witch hunt, I can see the return of the stocks and public floggings in the not too distant future for those of us who refuse to capitulate, as if we have a say or influence, or even a care as to how things pan out.

What "impacts of fossil fuel usage on climate" are they? Things are no different now (maybe a little more benign if anything) from when I was but a boy.

Whilst obviously climate change denial in terms of individual free speech is never going to be criminalised, should deliberate mis-information and/or witholding information be a crime ?:
If that were the case , plenty on both sides of the divide would be in bother, no?

I don't understand this. People who are naturally resilient/indifferent to cold are seen by some ^^ as wilfully projecting a 'hardman' attitude. Yet no one makes the same accusations towards those who want it to be 40c + ???

I'm looking forward to the return of unsettled weather as this anti cyclonic weather can get a bit boring after a while.
Me too, this has got to be the longest,most tedious and monotonous run of autumn weather that I can remember. By rights the turnaround should be swift, brutal,uncompromising and protracted.

If the current run of weather nothingness goes on for much longer they'll all be made redundant. Perhaps they should all take a long break and come back when things start to show signs of livening up a little.

Was sat watching the news when it was interrupted to bring live coverage of NASA press conference. Bit disappointed really, was expecting video of little green men with pointy fingers and conical heads.

Actually yes, Born. Whether I believed or not was irrelevant - it would have made no difference to the outcome so lets quit trying to beat us into submission. Truth is I could not care less.
