Wow! It didn't stop snowing completely all day yesterday and is going again this morning. Added some pics to show the difference overnight. First was yesterday afternoon around 4pm second is just now before I got back in bed! Been a very long time since I last saw this much. It was up to 10cm as of yesterday afternoon and there's definitely a food few cm more on top. The wind helped smooth it all out last night but it just keeps coming down, even if it is light.

Up to around 8cm so far on my patio where it didn't even start to settle until there was a covering on the grass. Still snowing moderately so for my location I'd say the met office have been pretty spot on. Will measure again when it stops if the kids haven't used it for a snowman!

Hello fellow Kesgravian! I'm also in Kesgrave
Got a very eager 10 year old wanting to test his new sledge out. Hope we can get it to settle out there!.
Howdy neighbour. My 8 year old is looking forward to sledging on the heath as soon as the snow is thick enough.

Very small snow grains, settling a little on cars and shed roof. The wind is pretty gusty too. Come on big snow where are you

Having spent much of the night dreaming that it was raining and being completely gutted I was not surprised to see a lack of snow when I peaked through the curtains. I checked the radar and it must not have updated so I feared the worst so headed straight on here to get the lowdown!
Light snow here and radar is looking better now it's updated so time for a nice cuppa and watch it all unfold. I don't need this stress first thing in the morning!

Rain is hammering down here atm. Think I'll stay inside today.
Met Orifice app has pushed the transition to snow back from midnight to 2am for here. Our lamposts go off around midnight so I'm hoping the flakes will be large enough to set the outside light off so I can see what's going on .
Ps, I won't believe it's happening until I see it with my own eyes!

We've had two flurries so far, both lasting about ten seconds. Hopefully the main band gets this far north and east, stalls, pivots, stalls again and buries me in snow.

Met office have extended one of the warning areas to include my location in Suffolk now. I do love a morning warning

Wow what a let down. Precipitation just fizzled away the closer it got to Ipswich. All we had was 30 seconds of ice pellets and then very very light snow for a few mins. I didn't have high hopes but thought it would be a little better than that. Oh well.

Light snow here in kesgrave, east side of Ipswich for about 5 mins. Last night's hard frost has melted away. No rain here, straight to snow. Hoping it gets heavier soon

I also saw what I thought was a big snowflake this morning that turned out to be a white feather, momentary excitement quickly replaced with disappointment

Seems to be an endless stream of moderate rain showers again today with a few very wet snowy blobs mixed in during the heavier bursts. I'm just east of Ipswich so probably too close to the sea to get anything better from this weather. Shame really.

Not had a single storm in this period so far, hoping i can tempt fate

The Ipswich snow shield is holding firm, showers going round, petering out or forming downstream so far.

Quaver sized lumps in Ipswich town centre for a little while! Eased of a little now but lovely to see.

Well about an hour of snow here in Ipswich, now raining again. It was just starting to lay as well. Fingers crossed for tomorrow when my kids might get to build their first snowman!

I spoke to soon. (can't find previous post where i said showers looking better over the sea). As soon as I posted that it stopped snowing.
In the meantime I've been outside to clear the van if snow as I have to go out later. Of course I took a quick measure before doing so, pic below
Roughly 22cm or around the 9 inch mark in old money. Luverlee
