Here's a timelapse from my dashcam! Check out the anticyclonic movement from about 10 seconds on!
Looks like some anti-cyclonic spin at about 15 seconds there.

Big tornado on KFOR right now....
...sweet rope out.

The entire meso is almost on the ground!!

Everything's a bit of a mess at the moment. Lots of raggy scud and little funnels so far. Still early days though this is probably only round one but thats a large cluster of storms charging through Ok right now and they're all competing with each other. None of them can really focus.

Just head to www.news9.com - the stream is on the landing page

Gorgeous helicopter views from news9.com right now.

The last couple of times I've chased (2012 and 2008), the outlook was similar and we ended up chasing every day bar one. Ordinarily at this time of year there will always be something to chase even if its just some tumble weed across Colorado

It will have recovered by the beginning of next week I'd wager. Besides, "devoid of any better boundary layer moisture" simply means a reduced risk of surface based storms and tornadoes. I stil reckon there'll be some high based photogenic stuff?
-
Been pretty much the story of the season so far. It'll recover soon enough though.

Amazing the difference a week can make when it all looked so good. SPC retracting their 4-8 forecast somewhat in as little as 24hours though at least they're saying PREDICTABILITY is too low rather than the potential and thankfully looking like nothing much happening when I fly in. Lets hope things pick up quick though. Tour 1 should at least top off their tour with a bang.

Velbon £30 bog standard basic tripod for me. No doubt it'll blow over at the first gust of wind. Can you buy sandbags in Walmart?

Forgot to mention I'm bringing my backup 700D as well. Will stick the 270 on that and keep the 80D for wides and video.

That's my hope!! What tour are you on?
Tour 2 \o/

I'm bringing a Canon 80D with a workhorse Tamron 18-270 and a Sigma 12-24, a Dead Kitten external mic and a bunch of filters. I'm hoping we'll get close enough so that I don't have to use the full extent of the Tamron

I think I'm Terminal 5 as well but I depart on the day itself.

Models contiunue to show an active start to tour 2 with troughing out west. Looks like a good tour coming up yet again for Tour 2!
I'm sure this statement has now jinxed everything!!

There's usually a TORRO meet up in Oxford in April. Could be an idea?

Thanks Nick

Hi All
So, I'm looking at filling out my Visa Waiver and Apis summary - is it too early to ask if we know what the base hotel will be for Tour 2 or what do people generally write?
Cheers

Well, I've just booked my flights through Omega Flight Store - direct flight at a 'too good to be true' price. Got my itinerary, no email confirmation as of yet though, but have been onto the BA website to check the booking and I'm all logged and confirmed. Fingers crossed.
