It does seem to be the bit of Kent that juts out into the Channel that gets the worst. My mate up the road from you says pretty much the same thing as you.
Fingers crossed you all stay damage-free down there today.

Thank you so much for your kindness

  2. I’m right on the SE coast and its not usual to have rough weather especially not wind but it’s been almost consistent this year. The severity has also seemed to of of changed this year as well. Most storms that have come through have been 60+ . My wash line has been up and down like a yo-yo 🪀 this year.

  3. When I left for work it was -3.  where I am now seems a bit warmer, it’s 0 so it’s either gone up or just a bit better

I was training outside last night, it was an incredible night but oh my god it was cold. I’m pretty good at working in the cold but as you can probably remember I’ve been a bit chilly of late lol. I got home and couldn’t warm up whatever I did, which is pretty unusual, I have had to learn pretty quick how to stay warm in the cold, anyway I laid in bed and shivered for hours. I went to bed extra blankets, clothes, water bottle and wooly hat  😂😂😂 I looked like the mitchelin man

Maybe not such a bright idea.

    You can imagine the headlines..

"Thousands stranded as Eurostar cancelled due to blizzards hitting northern France".😭

It’s probably the first time that all that many people wanted to go there

Maybe it could still shift a bit further north, I mean 20/30 miles further inland would include a fairly large chunk of Kent and Sussex, 50 miles and it's not far from South London.

I'd be happy with just a 20 mile shift north from an IMBY perspective.😁

  5. I love snow and would really like to see some but I have to say the cold that we’ve had the last days has really go into my bones, lol,  sounds  like I’m eighty years old.  If I’m cold and in my thirties what must a ninety year old be feeling? There are families with small children really suffering because of the cold because they can’t afford heating. Most of the week I was sat under a blanket in a jacket while I was working just because I knew the heating would need to be on for my children in the evening and we are all having to cut back. I’m sorry to be a bit morbid but we get excited about the cold and the model thread is now going mad because it looks like it’s a no go but there could be a lot of people elderly that wouldn’t be able to cope  nearly 14000 people died last winter.
I’m not trying to preach but I just wish people could see the wider picture, especially on the model thread.  I just don’t like how they get so nasty with each other. I will be happy either way, especially if it goes up to 35 degrees and sun. ☀️
P.S I really like snow to and get very excited 🥶☃️🌨️❄️

  6. I had to go into the office today which is in Tunbridge wells, it was very light to start with but them it really started to come down around 12pm. it covered roofs quickly, roads just got a bit slushy but not bad at all, all things considering. I was on the train on the way home and snow disappeared as we got closer to Battle, Hastings which was such a shame.   I am cold through to my bones now though. i hate being cold.
